Summary: Clementine, Louis and AJ hang out by the river today, things getting a little heated between the couple
Words: 1665
"Gold star!" Louis shouted. AJ hit the walker on the head with as much force his 8 year old self could handle. He let 'chairles' hit the floor, huffing. Clementine laughed looking at exhausted AJ, he really wanted to be like the man he looked up to: Louis. AJ had always admired Louis' strength. He never understood how people perceived Louis as weak, when Louis hit walkers and killed them with brute force. It saved ammo and he did in style. AJ didn't have much masculinity in his life to begin with and after reading a magazine about 'what it meant to be a man', he really wanted to learn from Louis.
"Bullshit! The walkers still alive!" AJ threw a fit, he was tired, and he'd been sick of trying over and over. "Hey, language AJ." Clementine looked to AJ who was flustered at himself, upset that he couldn't be as strong as Louis. He stormed off, walking towards the bridge that led to the fishing shed. Louis slowly walked over to Clementine, who worried for him. Louis stopped her from going after him; "Give him some space. He needs to cool off." Clementine sighed, sitting back down on the log.
"He's been acting up lately-" Louis chuckled cutting her off, "So have you." Clementine looked over to Louis with confusion. "Don't give me that look, you know you have been." He gave her a peck on the lips as she looked at him blankly, causing a smile. "Elaborate." Clementine stated, leaning on her knees.
"Well for one, you don't accept help as much and when we offer you curse at us. Secondly, you barley let us go out without major protection weapons with us, literally all Ruby wanted to do was go on a stroll but you insisted she'd take someone and a gun, also some rations."
Clementine rested her cheek onto her palm. Searching Louis' features, he bit his lip. "Thirdly, you did slap the shit out of me instead of communicating with me. Clem, seriously, if you didn't want to make out that was fine but you didn't have to slap me mid- session...I mean it was so random to." Clementine sighed and threw her head back. "I know, and I'm sorry. There's just a lot in my mind right now." Louis nodded, now hugging Clementine to his side, "Yea, AJ to." Clementine looked over to the boy who was sitting by the river.

The duo found AJ by the bigger part of the river, looking at the deep water.
"Hey kiddo." Clementine sat down next to AJ, Louis sitting by them as-well. AJ looked up to Clementine, he continued to fidget with the leaf in his hands. "I'm sorry for cussing Clem and getting mad." AJ said, looking down. Clementine rubbed slight circles around the boys back. "It's ok, is there anything you wanna get off your chest?" Clementine asked kindly. Louis admired how motherly she was.
AJ huffed. "Willy and I were in the music room. I was talking about how I liked my lady broccoli toy the best because she looked cool, and Willy said that it was 'girly and weird to like her more', so I read a man thing, and it said to be strong." AJ hugged his knees, staring at his reflection in the water. "I wanted to be strong like Louis. But I cant no matter how hard I try. Louis isn't 'girly', it's not fair that I am."
Louis rolled his eyes, he was certainly having a talk with Willy later. "AJ, there no such thing as 'girly or manly'. We're all human and we like what we like. Hell, I'm wearing pink boxers right now and I don't feel any type of way, mainly because it doesn't matter. A piece of cloth or a thought about liking something on the feminine side doesn't determine whether you're a boy or girl, AJ." Clementine widened her eyes, Louis was so articulate about the issue, it surprised her. AJ twisted his mouth into a smile. "That makes sense." He says softly. Clementine makes eye contact with Louis, she gives him a thankful smile.
Louis smiled back, now looking ahead. "Hey, it's a pretty hot day." Clementine nodded, "...Yea? What made you bring that up?" It was true, it was hot. Clementine had her beige top on, she left her jacket in her dorm, Louis had his trench coat tied around his waist, AJ the same with his jacket.
