[An AU where Clem's leg isn't cut off, takes place 5 years in the future, this is angst.]

Summary: Violet and Clementine broke up 2 years ago, and now as death approaches something is said that hurts all too much in that moment.

Louis and AJ accidentally split up from Violet and Clementine while running from a herd. They had decided to go to the nearby city and find supplies but they were met with a large herd when they showed up. Louis cursed to himself and climbed on top of a truck. AJ followed him and they both looked over the crowd searching for the two.

"Ok...come on, AJ." Louis got off of the truck but AJ didn't follow. "AJ."

AJ turned around with a saddened look, Louis gave him a weak smile and reached his hand out for AJ. "Come on, little man. She'll be fine, It's Clem."

AJ sighed, and nodded, he grabbed Louis' hand and jumped down from the truck.

MEANWHILE...

"Fuck!" Violet yelled, she couldn't see Louis or AJ anymore. Louis was basically her walking stick since it was hard for her to see. Violet suddenly saw blood splatter next to her, she turned her head quickly and saw Clementine killing a walker. Clementine snapped her head up to Violet.

"Come on!" She yelled, and grabbed Violet's hand. They ran from the crowd together, Clementine frantically looked around and found a boarded up jewelry store. "We can hide there!" She yelled.

As Clementine led Violet down the broken down streets, Violet got caught by a walker. "AHH!" She yelled, falling down. Clementine was quick to stab the walker in the head. Violet scrambled herself up, Clementine helped.

"No bites?" Clementine asked, to which Violet just nodded her head.

Clementine nodded sternly and held Violet's hand again. They ran up to the store and Clementine tried to pry open the door.

"Uh, Clem, Clem hurry!" Violet whisper-shouted. The herd was catching up quite quickly. About a minute passes, "Clementine!" Violet snapped.

"I'm fucking trying Violet! Shut the fuck up and help me!" Clementine shouted with pent up anger. Violet gulped and nodded, rushing over to the boards. They both worked together and finally got the board off of the door.

"Ok, go!" Clementine shouted, they both ran into the store at the same time. "Ok, the door was boarded up for a reason so be careful-" Clementine was then suddenly cut off by Violet's scream.

"Fuck! Get off!" She whined, Clementine rushed to her and pried off the zombie that was latched onto her back. Clementine threw the zombie against the wall, stunning it. She then stabbed it in the head. She walked backwards, huffing in and out. Immediately, Clementine went to place the board against the door, locking it.

"I said be careful Violet." Clementine said bitterly. She walked over to a nearby bench and sat on it. Clementine sighed, "I hope AJ's ok." Clementine muttered to herself. Violet's lip pouted, she hated that harsh tone Clementine had with her now.

2 years ago:

"Violet?" Clementine awoke and looked around the room, no Violet to be seen. Clementine got out of bed, putting on her now tight jacket.

She walked over to Louis' room, since The Delta, Violet usually went to hang out with Louis. She knocked on his door and the dread headed man opened the door. "Clem?" he asked groggily, rubbing his face in exhaustion. "It's the middle of the night..."
