I slowly opened my eyes and the first thing I saw nearly gave me a heart attack.
Mehmed was looking straight into my eyes with his face too close to mine that if I move even an inch my lips will meet with his forehead.
"Andria, can you hear me?" He waved his hands over my face and I scowl at him.
"Yes, you dumb head. Now, move away from my face." I said with my voice barely audible voice as I pushed his face away with my hand.
He let out a breath in relief. "Thank God, at least you're awake."
I sat up on the bed and saw that I was in his room and we were not alone.
She was staring at me with those big eyes like she have seen a ghost.
I cocked my eyebrow at her. "What?"
She glance at Mehmed who was looking at me with confusion before his confusion turn into a serious face.
"You may leave, Hatun." He waved his hands at the woman without moving his gaze from me. She bowed at her before leaving us alone.
"Andria, how many times should I tell you not to call me by my name." He said as soon as the door was closed. Ah. . . . . so she was staring at me cause I called names to their prince. Now, that I'm here, they'll be hearing more colourful words often.
"And how many times should I tell you that I will." I replied sarcastically.
He let out a heavy sighed. "Just don't disrespect me infront of others then. I'm a Şehzade. I have a reputation to uphold."
I rolled my eyes at him. "Ok."
"What happened to me?" I asked him as he sat down on a chair beside the bed.
"You passed out."
I gave him an unimpressed look and he let out a sigh before sitting up straight.
"You lost alot of blood thats why you passed out." He said. "You should have atleast told me or Sumbul agha why didn't you?"
"Why? Are you my father that I have to tell you everything? Mehmed, I'm not a kid or a crazy woman. I know how to handle myself."
"Is this how you handle youself? You could have died Andria. Do you know how worried I was?" He said in an angry tone and I raises my eyebrows at him.
"You were worried for me?"
"Of course. How could I let you die when you were the one that saved me." He replied in a frustrated tone as he ran his fingers throught his soft brown hair.
"I thought you wanted to kill me." I said and he scowled at me but didn't say anything. There was a complete silent in the room as we sat there awkwardly.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"The sun is almost out so, I don't know. Maybe five?"
I nodded. "Did you sleep last night?" I asked already knowing the answer by the looks on his face and the dark circles that were forming under his eyes.
He shook his head. I moved towards the edge and patted on the space beside me. "Come, sleep."
I didn't need to ask him twice as he took off his robe, exposing his toned chest underneath the white shirt throught the little opening around his neck.
He climbed into the bed letting out a heavy sigh and before I know it, he was out as light.
By the time the sun was fully out, I decided to wake up and just walk around the palace as I was bored as hell.
"Sumbul agha, I want to see Sadika Hatun. Where is she?" I asked Sumbul who was walking beside me giving me company.
"She doesn't live here. She is in Manisa with Şehzade Selim." He replied and I nodded.
"But she'll come here soon with Şehzade Selim." He added.
Before I could ask why the door man interrupted.
"Attention, His Highness Şehzade Orhan is coming." The door man shouted and Sumbul quickly bowed his head as the prince made his way towards the Harem.
Suddenly his eyes met mine and he stopped on his track. His narrowed his eyes at me before coming towards us.
"Şehzade." I said as I bend slightly. I hate this creature.
"Who are you? I have never seen you before?" He turn towards Sumbul without waiting for my reply. "Did Valide brought her for me."
"Şehzadem." He bowed his head at him. "No. She is a free woman. She was brought here by Şehzade Mehmed."
The smile on his face was gone and I smirked mentally. So he thought his mother brought me for him? Well even if she did, I could rather jump off a cliff than be with him.
"I see, you have met my brother." A voice said from behind and I turn back to see Mehmed standing there with his hands behind his back.
"Attention, His Highness Şehzade Mehmed is here." the door man shouted again. We were standing infront of the door and the girls inside the harem were looking at us curiously as they stood in line.
"Yes." I replied offering him a smile which he returned surprisingly.
"Orhan. Meet Andria." He said as he introduced me to Orhan who was looking between us with a werid expression.
He nodded. "kardeşim I was about to come to you."
"What happen Orhan?" He asked as he stood close beside me.
Orhan turns towards the girls. "You may go back to your work." He said and everyone bowed their head before going back to their works while some sat down on the couch watching us.
"It's about Fatma Sultan." He said glancing at me and I took that as a sign to excuse myself.
After we reached the fountain in the rose garden I turn towards Sumbul who was lost deep in his thoughts.
"What happen short legs? What are you thinking?" I asked and he scowled at me.
"Stop calling me short legs you crazy woman." He said as he waved his hand at me and I chuckled at his behavior.
"By the way, Sumbul agha. What happen to Fatma Sultan. Is she sick?" I asked him and he frowned.
"No. Why?"
"Şehzade Orhan was saying something about her thats why. Do you know anything?"
He look left and right and leaned in like he was about to tell me the biggest secret of the history.
"Hafsa Sultan is marrying Fatma Sultan off to Davud pasha." He said in a hushed tone and I nodded. "But Fatma Sultan don't want to marry Davud pasha."
"So, why are they forcing her?"
"Andria, they are woman. They live under the shadow of the sultan and their Valide. They don't have any choice." Sumbul agha said sadly.
"Especially when their Valide is Hafsa Sultan." He said with a scowl. He sure hates Hafsa Sultan.
"Did they forcefully marry off Hümaşah Sultan too?" I asked curiously.
"Of course not." He replied. "Their Valide, Handan Sultan was a kind woman and a caring mother. She allowed Hümaşah Sultan to marry the man of her choice."
"Poor Fatma Sultan and Ayşe Sultan." He said in a sad tone and I really felt sorry for the them.
"Anyway." He clapped his hands as he stood straight. "Breakfast will be served soon. Let's go back."
He said and I nodded before following him.
