“I love this.” I yelled and smiled at Mehmed who was riding his horse a little far from me. “Can we do this again?”
“Let's go again tomorrow. I'm really tired today.” He said as we near his hunting lodge which was in the middle of the forest.
I pout, wanting to go for another ride but nonetheless slowed down and jumped down from the horse before walking towards Mehmed.
“Şehzadem.” One of the guard came and bowed to him. “Beyhan Sultan and Şah Sultan have already arrived in the palace.”
I furrowed my eyebrows at Mehmed. “I thought they were coming next week.”
He nodded. “They said they will be coming next week but maybe they changed their mind.” He said before turning towards the guard. “Anyway, I'm tired today so, we'll go back tomorrow. Tell everyone.” The guard nodded before bowing his head for the last time and walking away.
Daniella, the girl whom I choose yesterday followed me as Mehmed and I walked inside. She stopped right in front of the chamber before bowing and walking away and we walked inside.
I decided to take a warm bath and relax before the dinner.
After I was done, I changed into the nighty straight away before walking inside the chamber. As soon as I walked inside, Mehmed grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him talking me off guard. He wrapped his arms around my waist smirking at me.
“Are you on a mission to give me a cardiac arrest one of these days? Why do you keep scaring me. You stupid.” I slapped his arm before trying to pull away just for him to tighten his grip.
“Mehmed. Leave me.” I warned but he didn't budge. “Or i'll scream.”
“Scream as much as you want.” He gave me a challenging smirked which made me want to strangle him.
“Ok.” I replied and was about to scream when he crashed his lips on mine and I froze.
I was dumbstruck. My brain stopped working, heart started beating fast and I stare at him with wide eyes open.
He wrapped his arm tighter around me before running his hand on the back of my neck sending chills down my spine. I closely closed my eyes, melting into his touch. His lips was so soft and tastes like peach making me want more. My new favourite flavor.
The knock on the door startled me making me pull away.
“Enter.” He said in frustrated as he ran his fingers through his hair while I awkwardly sat down in front of the table.
The maids started bring in dinner before placing it on the table. Mehmed also sat down and the maids started serving us.
I popped a lokma inside my mouth while glancing at Mehmed who was shamelessly staring at me. “What?”
He grinned at me before shaking his head and began digging in.
Someone knocked on the door and entered after Mehmed tell them too.
The door man bowed at him before handing over something to him. “Şehzadem, Şehzade Selim has sent this for you.”
Mehmed dismissed everyone before opening the letter. As he read his face became paler and paler making me more worried. “What does it says Mehmed?” I asked as I settled beside him.
He put the letter down on the table before turning towards me. “My. . . . my father. He was stabbed by one of the bandits while he was strolling in the forest along with some guards.”
“Is he alright?” I asked. This wasn't suppose to happen. The Sultan cannot die before the war. How the heck is that even possible? The Sultan was suppose to die after one year while returning, not now.
“Yes.” Was all he replied before standing up. He walked towards the balcony. I sighed before calling the maids in and telling them to take the food away and clean the table.
“What are you thinking?” I asked him as I stood close beside him. The night was peaceful and the moon seem more brighter today. All we could see from here was only trees which was kind of boring but I didn't mind that at all. Atleast its far more better than seeing those witches of the ottoman dynasty.
“What if this is one of Hafsa Sultan's doing to make Orhan the next Sultan.” He said turning towards me. “I swear if she had any hand in this, I'll kill her.”
I placed my hand on his shoulder giving it a light squeez. “Don't stress too much about it. Just pray for Hünkarım to return safe and sound.” I offered him a smile and he sigh and nodded before wrapping his arm around me pulling me close to him.
“You are the only woman beside from my sister whom I have shared everything and who makes me feel warm and comfortable.” He said while looking up at the sky.
“Oh I feel so honoured.” I mocked and he chuckled.
“You really are very different from others. You are lucky because if it were other woman in place of you, she could have been beheaded long time ago for disrespecting me.”
“Then why didn't you? Why didn't you behead me when I'm continuously being disrespectful to you.” I questioned and he left out a heavy sigh before looking down at me.
“Because I like you. You are very different from others which make me what you more.” He said making me completely shut up. “Who really are you?”
“Batman.” I replied.
“What!?” He asked totally amused by my answer and confused by what actually it means.
He rolled his eyes. “What do you even keep on saying? From where do you find all those weird words from?”
“I'm too brilliant for this era.” I murmured which he obviously heard before laughing.
He pressed my head on his chest before placing a kiss on my hair.
“I'm going to the town tomorrow to check on my people. Will you join me?” He asked after some time and I hummed.
“But I thought we we're going back to the palace.” I questioned and he nodded.
“First we'll go to the town than the palace.” He replied and I nodded. There was a peaceful, neither of us talked. We just enjoyed each others company in each others embrace.
I hated to admit this but, I think i'm starting to like him which I shouldn't. But I can't help it.
