Im hanging around with Bruce Banner and Tony Stark in Banners lab. I never thought id be on an aircraft no longer hiding with Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. I sit on a counter at the side of the room and tighten the strings on my red jacket as Stark and Banner examine Loki's scepter. I feel Starks eyes on me again.
Stark:
"Hey hoodie, ive never seen you put your hood down yet, infact all ive seen you do is tighten it". He leans on another counter across the room from me.
Edith:
"And im fine like this, im not taking it down". He squints his eyes at me. Damn he really has a suspicion on me.
Stark:
"You know, you two should come by Stark tower sometime, top ten floors, all R&D, you'd love it, its candy land". He says while walking over to Banner who is busy working on the staff. I see Stark grab a needle and stands at Banners side. I swing my legs in boredom.
Banner:
"Sorry, last time i was in new york, i kinda broke harlem".
Stark:
"Well, i promise its a stress-free environment, no tension, no surprises".
Banner:
"Ow!". He pokes Banner in the side with the needle. What the hell is Tony doing. Just at the same time Steve has entered the lab.
Rodgers:
"Hey!"
Stark:
"Nothing?" He askes banner. Is Tony trying to provoke Banners alter ego.
Edith:
"What the, are you crazy". Steve walks past me and toards them and i jump down from the counter and walk over to join at Steves side. Stark just shrugs back at me.
Rodgers:
"Is everything a joke to you?". I can feels Steves anger. He seems furious.
Stark:
"Funny things are"
Rodgers:
"Threatening the safety of everyone on this ship isnt funny, no offence doc".
Banner:
"Its all right i wouldnt of come aboard if I couldn't handle pointy things."
I suddenly feel a powerful headache come on, my powers have a mind of its own, when they want to show they try and command me to use them. Thats what the headache was, my powers. If i had never used my powers before i would of probably been dead a long time ago. The headache almost knocks me off my feet and makes me want to scream out, instead i keep my stance making me tremble and i clentch my eyes to prevent me from shouting. I hadn't noticed everyone was watching me clenching my eyes and fists shut until i felt Steves large hand on my small shoulder.
Rodgers:
"Edith? You okay"
It makes me jump a bit as i whip my eyes open and stare straight forward into Dr Banners torso (who stands across the table from me) to help me focus my powers. For the first time my breathing got rapid. I began to panic more. Banner moved around the table and came to me instantly, he softly grabbed my hands and kneeled down infront of me, he looked up at me. I quietly hear Steve whisper to Tony behind me
Rodgers:
"Come on, lets give them some space, Banners got this"
Stark:
"Yeah right, i actually needed to speak with you"
I realise my breathing dosent get any slower, it just makes me feel more and more out of breath. What is going on with my powers, why does it feel like someones choking my heart.
Banner:
"Hey, look at me". I look down at him as he smiles up at me and rubs his thumbs on the back of my palms in circles. I feel tears beginning to prick at the corner of my eyes, i was scared.
"Your okay, i think your having a severe anxiety attack, just breath for me". He says as he breathes in and out with me. My breathing steadies and all thats left is my trembling hands in his and my shakey voice.
"See, your okay, im a doctor so i can help you".
