The day had finally come. It was finally the day of Lorena's grandmother's showcase. It was the Queen's birthday.

Lorena splashed some cold water on her olive skin over the bathroom sink while the make up and hair stylists waited outside the door patiently. "Princess, we don't mean to rush you but it's almost time," one of them yelled out from behind the door.

"Just a minute," Lori called back out in between her pep talk to herself. "Come on Lorena," She whispered to herself, pinching her arm to wake up.

"They're all waiting on you. They're all counting on you. We just have to go out there and say a few words about Abuela," She told herself, trying to conjure up enough courage to finally show her face outside of this bathroom.

"Just a few words like we rehearsed, and then you can leave. Easy peasy, right? Easyyyyyyyy peasy," Lorena concluded, nodding to herself before walking out the door, shocking everyone in the room.

She sat on a stool in the middle of her bedroom, getting comfortable considering she might be sitting there for at least an hour. "Okay, I'm ready."

The ladies began working around her immediately. One started blowdrying Lorena's hair, the other started on her soft eye makeup. The princess just closed her eyes, waiting for everything to be over.

Someone placed a cold soft fabric on her hands, making her eyes shoot open at them. She clenched the fabric in her hands, shocked to see her grandmother's white gloves in between them. One of the maids cleared her throat before she proceeded to speak. "The Queen wanted you to have her gloves, Princess. She hoped you would wear them today."

A tear threatened to fall down her cheeks but she quickly put her head down, nodding quietly while slipping on the gloves.

A few hours had passed by and the princess was almost ready. She paced the floors in her red long ball gown. Her hair was pinned in an updo and her tiara was placed carefully on her head. Lorena felt that if she had moved around too much or worse, the tiara would fall right off her head and onto the crowd tonight. She had to float on clouds instead of walking on that stage tonight.

She had already stumbled on her feet by her nightstand, making her sit on her bed for some further protection. The tall white heels covering her feet laughed at her. It seemed like everything about the way she looked and felt today was haunting her.

There was a knock on her door, making her groan as she forced herself back up to answer it. To her surprise, a very handsome Benji appeared in front of her. "Benji? What are you doing up here? Shouldn't you be rehearsing with R5?"

He shrugged, opening the door further and letting himself in. "We've been rehearsing all weekend, although it was pretty hard to do so considering everything that has been on the news lately..."

"I'm sorry about that. The world probably won't stop talking about Abuela's death until at least... never," She joked to herself even though it was probably sadder than anything.

She gave her best friend a long hug, wanting to feel his embrace more than anything right now. "How are you holding up?" He asked her, although he had already known the answer. "Ross is waiting for you downstairs. He may be able to cheer you up."

Lorena shook her head in Benji's chest, "Can he bring back my grandmother?"

"He can try," Benji laughed, pulling away and caressing his best friend's sad face. "Everything is going to be alright... We can sing a broadway number instead of performing with them tonight? What do you say? For old times sake?"

This actually made the princess grin as she pushed him slightly, "You're the one who loves broadway musicals, I just prefer the television ones. And besides, I don't really think I have it in me to perform tonight."
