Lorena and Sophia sat in the conference room almost neck-and-neck. Sophia sat with her legs crossed, showing her bare knees and her 4 inch heels. She ran a hand through her brown highlights as she tried not to break eye contact with her daughter. Lorena was rambling on about different things she wanted to start implementing around the castle.

"I was thinking we could stop with the unnecessary rules. Like wearing hats everywhere we go or carrying around purses all the time, even if they're empty? I mean, who even thought of that?" the younger princess spoke with a determined expression.

Sophia cleared her throat before saying, "Your grandmother."

Lorena continued on without acknowledging her mother's comment. "And no shellfish? We all get tested for these things. Nobody in this family is allergic to shellfish so we should just be able to eat it."

Her mother let out a huge exaggerated sigh. "Your grandmother is allergic to shellfish. Shellfish can also cause food poisoning, I mean come on Lorena, it's like you did not even read the Princess Handbook I gave you when you were 9."

Ahh yes, the Princess Handbook, aka the book that has been sitting on Lorena's shelf for the past few years without ever seeing the light of day. Princess Sofia had given this "handbook" to her daughter at the age of 9 so she would be ready to go public. Lorena dreaded that book. She had read it in her early stages of princess preparation but quickly realized how stupid all of this had seemed to her. Since then, she has been picking rules out of the book to question with the intent of changing them.

"The Princess Handbook," Lorena laughed out loud. "Jesus mom, I cant believe you ever gave me that stupid thing."

Sofia stood up from her seat, flipping her hair over her shoulder and pointing her finger down at Lorena. "Hey, I made that so that you would be prepared. I did not make the rules, nena. I just follow them, and so should you.

Lorena stood up as well, looking up at her mother's angry expression. "Well I don't agree with them, so I won't follow them. You can take it up with grandma when she gets back, I don't care anymore."

Sofia opened her mouth to say something but closed it right after. She huffed and brought her hands to her sides. She knew she didn't have the courage to stand up to her husband's mother. Sofia didn't have the authority to stand up to them either way.

She swallowed her thoughts down before shaking her head at her only daughter. "I'll think about the changes... how are things with you and Mateo?"

Lorena couldn't help but to grin at this. She had had her mother in the palm of her hands and the best part was that she didn't even have to lie to her about this. "Mateo has been great! We're having a lot of fun together."

And in the past few days, they have. She had finally found someone to watch endless hours of Gossip Girl with her, which was great because Benji never wanted to.

"We're actually going out tomorrow night. I hope that's okay?" Lorena asked, raising her eyebrows at her mother, using this as the perfect chance to really ask about her night out with the Lynch siblings.

Sofia didn't even know how to respond, she was so shocked by this. "Really? You actually like someone I introduced you to?"

"I actually do. You did good this time, mami," Lorena smiled, nodding her head.

The older princess managed to put up a small grin in response to her daughter's comment. "I just knew you two would be great for each other! Of course you can go out tomorrow night, but only if you bring your guards with you. You know the drill, Lorena," Sofia expressed, surprisingly.
