Chapter 45

2 weeks later

Annika was sitting in her chair using her laptop and brainstorming on her work. She was slowly getting frustrated with her work and she needed perfection which seemed far. She sipped her tea while she was typing things in her laptop. She saw Daksh and Shreya standing near her door waiting for her attention.

"Why are you guys standing over there like that, Get in a take a seat" Said Annika. Daksh opened the door and both of them got in . They both sat in the sofa next to Annika's table .

"It took you long enough to realise that we were standing outside" said Shreya 

"Annika why are you overworking yourself , You aren't even not aware of what is happening around you , Don't stress yourself over these work" said Daksh and Annika gave a questioning look

"I desperately need a break , a vacation but there is this workload plus the kids' vacation is starting means I need to find more ways to entertain them so they don't make a mess of things , This just feels never-ending now" Said Annika with a sigh . Annika put her laptop on sleep mode and moved her chair towards the sofa.

"The only relief is that Shivaay always volunteers on stuff related to kids which takes a bit of things off my shoulders , But he is spoiling the kids to the maximum , He is trying to makeup by spoiling them in every way possible" Said Annika with a smile

"Annika take a break before you hit your breaking spot and I'll take care of the stuff , don't worry" said Daksh

"Not yet , I have a lot of things pending at this point and I need to finish , I can't be late either all of these stuff has got deadlines" said Annika

"NO one can do Anything until you want it" said Shreya

Annika changed the topic and started talking about something else. They all chilled together for the day , They went to  a restaurant and had lunch from there , they broke their ways after lunch. Annika drove home after lunch.

Annika reached her home , she parked her car and she walked towards her home. She noticed that the door was open , She thought that must be Shivaay since he has an extra key of the house. She walked in and her home was eerily silent.

"Shivaay...Shivaay" She called out , She checked her watch and she knew that her kids must be home by now. She thought out that Shivaay isn't that irresponsible to leave out the door open . She walked inside her living room and was blinded by a pair of hands and she was going to scream.

"Don't scream ,its me , Ani and Shivi only, Its a surprise for you" said Shivaay . Shivaay held Shivi in his shoulders and she was holding her small hands over Annika's eyes. Ani was standing down with the surprise in her hands. They had planned everything.

"Surprise" screamed every one . Annika opened her eyes to see plane tickets in the hands of Ani. She took them and saw tickets for Herself , Shivi , Ani and Shivaay to Manali. It was dated in 5 days  , She look at Shivaay with surprise . He was struggling to read her expressions.

"Before anything let me explain something , The kids are having vacation now and they have been telling me that they wanted to visit a cold place and you obviously need a break , i called up Daksh and asked him if you could get some time off and he said yes so we decided to surprise you with tickets to Manali , I have taken care of everything , A place to stay , Travel everything" said Shivaay trying to convince Annika

"Thankyou" said Annika and all of of a sudden Hugged Shivaay which took everyone by surprise.

"Dear passengers , we are facing turbulence...." said the airhostess . The kids held on to each others hands, Shivaay tried his best to console the kids that nothing is wrong and it will stop it a bit , He managed to relax them down a bit.

He felt his hands being tightly held , he looked down and saw Annika clutching his hands tight like she had no plans of leaving it. He smiled and reassured her that everything is going to be alright. Annika looked outside and she could understand that they are going to reach their destination soon. She could not help herself from thinking of her dream.....
