CHAPTER TWO
TRECIA'S POV
Trying to get away from my chauffeur slash bodyguard is definitely a tough one to do.
Dad forbids me to go anywhere without my bodyguard. He keeps pointing out my popularity, and that people might recognize me. Na kesehodang dagsain daw ako ng fans—or worse, bashers.
Kaya naman pinagbutihan ko ang disguise ko. A long wavy mahogany wig, green contact lenses, and eyeglasses. People would never recognize me in this disguise.
I wanna get drunk but not totally wasted. I still have to contact my driver to come to pick me up using my second phone. I left my original phone back at my unit so that he wouldn't track me down.
It's a good thing that this club isn't one of those exclusive ones, where membership is a requirement. I could easily get in and have fun. The bouncers also didn't ask for an ID, which is very much convenient for me but definitely a confusing one.
Once I entered the club, I searched for the bar and decided to stay there. I quickly got the bartender's attention and ordered a margarita.
After he gave it to me, I turned my stool and faced the dance floor. Loud music surrounded the club and bright lights were everywhere. There's even a stage with a pole at the center. It would be fun to mess around once in a year, instead of always being a bratty but obedient daughter. I sighed at that thought. If only I could do that.
"Hey, pretty lady. Are you alone?" a handsome American guy asked me.
Instead of flirting like how I should be doing, I raised an eyebrow. "Are you planning to accompany me throughout the evening? 'Cause tough luck, mister but the answer is no."
He softly chuckled, both of his dimples were now visible. "I think you're drunk, Miss."
"And so?" mataray ko pa ring tanong.
He smiled. "You might need some assistance."
"No need. She already has me," biglang salita ng lalake mula sa likuran ko.
"Do you know her?"
"I'm her boyfriend. Now, fvck off."
The handsome guy raised both his hands in surrender before smiling at me. "Tough luck, you guessed right. Hope to see you next time, pretty," he said before he completely left the counter.
I just rolled my eyes and drank again. "As for you, fvck off as well," I said, my eyes were half-hooded, then I went back to getting drunk.
"That's enough. You've been drinking for almost half an hour," pagalit na sabi ng boses ng lalake.
"Hey, Mister. Stop meddling with my business. You're nothing but a stranger to me. So with all due respect, fvck off." I successfully pulled my hand away from his grip and continued drinking.
I need to celebrate the kind of suffocating life that I have.
"Cheers to my father who wants nothing but a famous and successful actress as a daughter!" I raised my glass before finishing the drink.
I never wanted to be an actress. I never wanted this fame—this fortune.
I raised my glass once again. "Cheers to my mother who's busy with her projects that she had completely forgotten that she had a daughter!" I drank the margarita and felt my world spinning but I ended up laughing.
All I wanted was a complete and normal family. A father who would guide me, and a mother who would always be by my side whenever I need her. But I got none of those, hooray!
I was about to raise another glass when someone entered my mind. Instead of shouting it like what I did to the first two cheers, I ended up whispering, "And finally, cheers to my cheater ex-boyfriend."
I took in the margarita in one gulp and laughed at my miserable life.
I turned my head to see who's the one to scold, but it was definitely a bad decision.
I felt my whole world spinning around and was about to lose my balance at the stool I'm sitting in when an arm shamelessly wrapped itself around my waist.
"Get your filthy arm off me," iritado kong utos.
"No. If I do your demand, then you'll lose your balance and fall to the ground. You wouldn't want that, Tres."
The man was no other than my ex.
Nagmamadali akong lumayo sa kanya. Parang biglang nawala ang kalasingan ko. What the hell is he doing here? And how the hell did he recognize me?
"No. Get the hell away from me."
"Why are you here? Are you stalking me?"
Nang-aasar naman siyang tumawa. "Wow lang ha. Anlakas naman ng hangin. Hindi ba pwedeng nakita lang kita rito? Saka mas nauna pa akong nakatambay rito kesa sayo."
"Why so defensive, Myers?" I sarcastically asked.
"Hindi ba pwedeng nagpapaliwanag lang? Ang hilig mo kasing mag-conclude eh."
I rolled my eyes before I sat on my previous stool and reached for my phone inside my bag. I then dialed my driver's number. "Hey, come pick me up." I gave him my location. "I'll explain later. Thanks." I quickly ended the call.
"Wow. Wala man lang bang "Thank you, Ivan. Wala talaga?
"Would you stop talking? It's not like I asked for your help."
He tapped his chest.
I rolled my eyes before I felt my phone vibrate. My driver texted me that he was outside the club so I stood up without saying anything.
"Thank you, Ivan! Goodbye, Ivan!
"Let's go home. I'll explain tomorrow morning."
I looked outside the window and remembered what happened.
So much for trying to relieve my stress. I shook my head.
