CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
TRECIA'S POV
"Are you okay, Trecia? You seemed pretty occupied." Mommy France even caressed my hair.
I took a deep breath and nodded. "Of course. I just lack coffee, I guess." I can't seem to shake the weird feeling off me after scene three.
Isang take lang ang kinuha at mukuhang satisfied na kaagad ang lahat doon. They even complimented Ivan and I. Mukha raw kaming may chemistry, and they just had to say it.
People and their mouths.
Napatango naman siya, believing my words. "Anyway, the next shoot will be tomorrow. Your father's already prepared the set in Central Park. Most of your fans would be there, you know? But still, he would want you to tweet about it."
I nodded again, like an obedient little girl. "I will." I glanced at her. "Would that be all?"
Mommy France smiled. "Your father wants you to end yours and Jeffery's drama."
Agad nanlaki ang mga mata ko saka ibinigay ang buong atensyon sa kanya. "Wh-what?"
Her smile widened. "He's letting Jeffery go."
"What's the catch?" nakakunot noo kong tanong. This wouldn't be as easy as one, two, three. Especially if it's my dad's orders.
Mommy France let out a soft chuckle. "Well, Jeffery's non-showbiz girlfriend is now pregnant." I felt delighted with the news. So that's the emergency. "So he asked for an out. He wanted to focus on his girlfriend and child."
I nodded but was still in doubt. I raised an eyebrow when Mommy France paused. "And?"
She chuckled again, clearly irritating me. "Your dad gave it since he won't be needing Jeffery anymore—his words, not mine. Now, this would be all on you."
I knew it. I somehow calmed down. "What's the plan?"
"Jeffery and you would post about both of you admitting that you two dated but it did not work. No need to be dramatic. Just a casual end of the story. Your father wants it posted tomorrow." I took a deep breath, waiting for the next words. "And the next day, TreVan shall sail."
Muling napaangat ang kilay ko. "TreVan?"
Mommy France chuckled and smiled as if she was honestly happy with what was going on. "Trecia and Ivan ship, my little superstar. Your father's movie has to be one of the bests. And you know how this works. All you have to do is date him in the eyes of the public." She grinned at me. "I bet your hashtag TreVan will trend—Where are you going, Trecia?"
I did not answer Mommy France's question and continued walking. The shooting was already done so I went to my dad's tent. "Out," I strictly commanded the people inside his tent.
"Trecia—"
"Out. Now!" The production team quickly left the tent, probably noticing how dark my face is right now. Once they're all gone, I face my dad. "Really, Dad? What the fvck are you playing right now‽"
He straightened his posture and strictly looked at me. "Your language, Trecia—"
"Oh, fvck my language. What is it you want‽" I could not help but raise my voice. "You told me to break up with Ivan two years ago, I listened even when I did not want to. And now this‽ Just what the fvck‽ Why are you playing us—me‽"
He remained seated on his chair, with the aura of authority surrounding him. "Be professional, Trecia. I'm teaching you to be professional. In this industry, you are not to take everything seriously, especially if it concerns your feelings—"
"Don't compare my life with yours, Dad. Not because you had to marry Mom for the sake of power and not love, it means you'll do the same with me—"
"You can't always have what you want, Trecia. So suck it up. Deal with it. If I told you to break up with him, then you'll break up with him. If I told you to date him, then date him."
Napailing na lang ako. "I won't do that." I faced my back on him and was about to take a step when he spoke, stopping me from moving.
"Try to disobey me and I'll ruin those people you consider your friends." I stopped breathing. "I heard that your gay friend is about to launch a fashion show in Paris. Don't listen to me, and you'll see how I work when I'm mad."
I turned around and looked at him. "I hate you."
"I know, Trecia. Your mother does too." Dad stood up and fixed his shirt. "Now, be a good girl and date your leading man professionally. I want the rates to rise up." He then left the tent and left his daughter like a cold-hearted person.
I chuckled bitterly and shook my head. Now who said my life is great? I'll switch places with that person pronto. Huminga muna ako nang malalim bago ibinuga ang sama ng loob ko at lumabas na rin ng tent.
I went back to my tent and took my things before asking Mommy France to take me back to my unit. Something inside me tells me to go somewhere else, but I don't want to listen. My mind is still in chaos, and his words during the shoot made it more chaotic.
Nakatingin lang ako sa labas ng kotse ko at sinusubukang ikalma ang sarili nang maramdaman kong mag-vibrate ang phone ko.

Would you want to have dinner with me? My apartment. Pramis, walang lason 'yung pagkain mo.

I know I shouldn't be reacting this way because of a simple message—because it's from him, but I ended up feeling a little lighter. I shook my head when I found myself smiling at the message. I was about to reply when he sent me another message.

'Yun ay kung hindi magagalit ang boyfriend mo. And it's just a casual dinner.

I took a deep breath and replied. After sending a message, I then informed my manager and my driver. "Drop me off Myer's apartment building."
Nilingon naman ako ni Mommy France. "It's pretty late for you to have a practice, Trecia. Plus you haven't eaten dinner yet."
"I can handle myself, Mommy. Just drop me off there. Thanks." With that, I looked over the car's window and unknowingly, felt excited to eat dinner. I don't like what's happening to me. And that Myers is to blame.
