CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

IVAN'S POV

"Trecia!" A man in a pink polo called out her name, getting everyone's attention.

Tumingin naman sa kanya si Tres saka ngumiti. "Yes?"

Inayos ng lalake ang hawak nitong notepad saka nagsalita. "So, can you tell us what you liked most about the movie? Aside from your leading man, of course." Umani ng hiyaw at pang-aasar ang sinabing iyon ng interviewer.

Hindi ko tuloy maiwasang ngumiti saka tinitigan si Tres. Humarap naman siya sa akin saka malokong inikot ang mga mata habang naiiling bago sumagot. "Well, the places where we shot the scenes were breathtaking, especially the place where Simon proposed to Katrina. It was a nice view to spend time with your loved ones, so yeah. I would say that I liked the setting of the movie."

Mukha namang satisfied ang interviewer at iba pang mga tao sa loob kaya naman nag-proceed na sa susunod na interviewer. "Trecia!" Sa totoo lang ay malaki ang pasasalamat ko at si Tres lang ang tinatawag. Hindi ko naman kasi talaga forte ang mga ganito eh.

"Yes?" Tres flashed another sweet smile.

"Is it true that there was a third party involved in your past break up with Jeffrey?" seryosong tanong nung babaeng interviewer na ikinatahimik lalo ng lahat.

Napatingin naman ako kay Tres sa pag-aakalang hindi siya komportable sa tanong pero mukhang nagkamali ako. She was still smiling as if she wasn't affected by the question or even the said issue—rumor.

Saka ko lang na-realize na paniguradong sanay na si Tres sa mga ganitong katanungan to the point na hindi na talaga siya apektado.

"No, there wasn't a third party involved. It was just a typical we-tried-but-didn't-work-out type of dating. Sure we enjoyed each other's company, but as friends. Turns out, we both agreed that it's better to stay friends than aim to have something more." She slayed her answer with a calm expression on her face.

Kahit tuloy ako eh paniwalang-paniwala sa mga sinabi niya. "Ivan?"

Ilang beses akong napakurap saka hinanap ang tumawag sa akin. It was a woman in a white polo shirt and ponytail. "Yes?"

The woman smiled at me. "Okay so, just to feed everybody's curiosity, why did you suddenly become an actor?"

Pasimple naman akong huminga nang malalim. Napaghandaan ko na 'to eh. Since hindi ko naman pwedeng sabihin na dahil sa kulang sa turnilyo ang ama ni Tres. I also flashed a charming smile. "Uhm... Don't judge me, okay?" biro ko na ikinatawa naman ng ilan. "I actually had a crush on Miss Davies back then and so, I kinda did a lot of auditioning? Trying my luck. And surprisingly, Director Davies actually chose me. So it was really a lucky day for me." Tiningnan ko naman si Tres. "And then, here I am, saying that those auditions were worth it as hell."

Naging maingay naman ang kwarto dahil sa mga bulungan. "So, Ivan..."

Napatingin naman ako sa isa pang interviewer na lalake. "Hmm?" Hindi pa ba matatapos 'to?

"Since when did you and Trecia start dating?"

Ilang beses akong nakapakurap. "Real life or in my dreams?" Umani na naman ng tawa ang tanong ko, at kahit ako ay hindi ko mapigilang matawa. Totoo naman kasi. "Kidding aside, hmm... I met Jeffrey and became an acquaintance with him. It was pretty much a pleasant encounter, and that's when I knew about their relationship. Jeff was even happy when he found out about my crush on Tres and well, he cleared out their relationship to me and supported me when I planned to take my chances." Napatingin naman ako kay Tres saka siya nginitian. "So technically, a week after their post—their tweet, I kinda ask her out, and thankfully, she said yes."

"Trecia, why did you say yes?"

Nanatili pa rin kaming nakatingin sa isa't isa saka siya ngumiti. "I... feel happy when I'm with him. And even if he's corny and all, he easily makes me forget my worries. He also accepts me even though I glare at him or be snobby, as he calls it, he still chooses me." Her face softened even more as she stared longer at me.

Naputol naman ang titigan namin nang may marinig kami na biglang tumili. "TreVan for the win!" sigaw ng isang babae sa likuran na ikinatawa naming lahat.

Naging maayos naman ang pagtanggap ng media sa aming dalawa ni Tres at sa totoo lang ay gusto ko ang pakiramdam na iyon. Na tanggap ng marami. Na pwedeng ipaglaban sa harap ng maraming tao.

Maayos ang naging relasyon namin ni Tres—masaya, kompleto, may ilang beses na pagtatalo pero magiging okay ulit. Bale may usapan kami na hindi kami pwedeng matulog nang magkagalit.

Halos gabi-gabi rin naman kaming magkasamang kumain at magkatabing matulog. Unless, may kailangan siyang puntahan o kung ano pa man.

Tatlong linggong magaganda. Tatlong linggong puno ng saya. Tatlong linggong hinding-hindi makakalimutan. Tatlong linggong... punong-puno ng pagmamahal sa isa't isa.

Tapos ang tatlong iyon ay masisira lang ng isang tao.

"The movie was a blockbuster. Thank you for your service, Mr. Myers. Now, announce your break up publicly," maotoridad na sabi ni Mr. Davies.

Ilang beses akong napakurap pero si Tres ang unang nakabawi. "Dad, what the fu—"

"Don't you dare, Trecia." Halatang seryoso ang lalake habang nakatingin kay Tres. Lumingon naman siya sa akin nang hindi makaimik ang anak niya. "As I was saying, Mr. Myers, our deal ends here. You are now free so you can finally end your fake relationship with my daughter."

Huminga muna ako nang malalim bago tumingin sa lalake, mata sa mata. "With all due respect po, Sir, I am not breaking up with your daughter. Not this time. And not again." I matched the seriousness. Hindi na ako makapapayag na mawala ulit siya sa akin. Hindi na pwede.

"Your decision is not welcomed in this conversation, Mr. Myers. My decision is the final and only decision. You both will announce to the public that what happened between you has now ended. Trecia will have another project by the end of the month, and your relationship has no room for it."

I stood my ground and held my chin up. "No. I am in love with Trecia and nothing can change that, Sir. I already tried removing her from my system but as you can see, it did not work." I glanced at Trecia. "I love her too much, Sir."

I then heard him scoff. "Love is nothing but an illusion in life, Mr. Myers. Forget it and leave my daughter alone."

Narinig ko naman ang mapaklang tawa ni Tres. "After putting us back together, you're telling us to break up? Just what the f*ck is wrong with you‽"

"Trecia!"

"I have spent my entire f*cking life, listening to you! Obeying your orders! You never treat me as your daughter. You only treated me as one of your workers. Well suck it up, Dad. I'm f*cking tired of it!"

"Trecia Davies!"

"No! I am not leaving him!" Aminaso akong gulong-gulo na ako sa nangyayari pero hindi ko maitanggi na masaya ako dahil ipinaglalaban ako ni Trecia.

"Then I will disown you! You're nothing but an ungrateful daughter!" Halatang galit na galit na si Mr. Davies dahil halos lumabas na ang litid niya sa leeg.

"Whatever." Tres even rolled her eyes. Agad akong hinawakan ni Tres sa braso saka hinatak palabas ng bahay nila.

Muli pang sumigaw ang ama niya at rinig iyon sa sobrang lakas kahit nasa labas na kami. "Trecia! Come back here!"

"Just f*cking disown me!" she shouted back and pushed me into the passenger seat of my own car. Umikot naman siya saka pumwesto sa driver's seat. Tres then flashed a mischievous smile. "Be my sugar daddy, okay?"

Natawa na lang ako sa sinabi niya habang naiiling. "Whatever my Tatlo wants." With that, we left their mansion.
