CHAPTER TEN

TRECIA'S POV

Seriously, what the hell is he doing here? And why the hell did Dad make that decision?

What the fvck is going on?

It has been three days ever since Dad made that idi*tic decision to make Ivan his leading man. Which resulted in me getting frustrated as time went by.

"Honey, quit pacing back and forth, it's making me dizzy," Mommy France complained.

I didn't stop though. Since when did I ever listen? I continued walking around my unit until my phone rang. I stared at it for a couple of seconds, arguing with myself whether or not to take it, but the former won anyway.

After picking my phone up and seeing the caller ID, I was even more hesitant to answer the call. "Seriously, do you plan to play that ringtone over and over again?" Mommy France, who was suddenly beside me, asked.

I let out a deep sigh before forcing myself to answer it. "Dad."

(Where the hell are you, Trecia?)

Of course, he's mad. "I'm at my unit, Dad. Practicing my lines with Mommy France." I saw her raise an eyebrow from the corner of my eye as she put her hands on her waist.

(Aren't you supposed to be with Myers?) Frustration was obvious in his tone.

I, as well, am frustrated with this fvcking situation. "What do you want me to do, Dad? Babysit him? Like what the hell? What is this? Torture? Is this a new way of saying I should stop going against your rules, Dad?"

(Trecia, you are to teach Myers the ropes of acting and rules in this industry.)

"Dad, may I remind you that it was your choice to bring him into this world? Isn't he your responsibility?"

(Yes, Trecia. Yes, he is.) he said in a matter-of-fact tone. (But like my daughter, I'm passing the responsibility to you.)

"What the actual fv—"

(Watch your mouth, young lady. I am still your father and the final words would come from me.)

I ended the call and frustratedly threw my phone on the sofa. I couldn't help but scream 'til my heart's contented. "I hate it! I hate him! I hate my life!"

I continued shouting until I couldn't anymore. That's when I noticed Mommy France in front of my unit's door—opened door.

I raised an eyebrow. "Who's outside, Mommy France?"

Nagsalit-salitan ang tingin niya sa akin at sa tao sa labas. "I uhm..."

"I think it's not a good time, ey? I'll just take my leave," I heard the person outside say.

"I think so too," naguguluhang sagot ni Mommy France.

My forehead creased as I realized whose voice that belonged to. I rushed to the door and clarified my suspicions. "What the hell are you doing here?"

Ivan looked bored as he laid his eyes on me and raised his hand to show me his phone. "Your father told me to come here."

"I don't want you here," I honestly said as I crossed my arms in front of my chest.

He sighed as if he was tired. "Trust me, Davies, neither do I."

I raised an eyebrow. "You do well know that I don't trust you."

Ivan rolled his eyes and sighed once again. "Then don't. I just want to get this over with."

I stared at him intently for a couple of seconds before giving up. "What the fvck ever."

"You still got a foul mouth, Davies," he commented. He really had the audacity to comment on such a thing.

"And you're still nosy, Myers."

"Wait... You know each other?" Saka ko lang naalalang nandito pa pala si Mommy France nang magsalita ito.

"No," we both answered at the same time. And at the same time, we exchanged glares.

"Yep, I'm definitely believing you both," salita ni Mommy France na halatang nang-aasar. "Well then, since you obviously do not know each other, I shall leave you both at peace." Hinarap ako ni Mommy France saka nakipag-beso. "I'll take my leave now. It's pretty late, you know?"

I was about to say something but Mommy France quickly took her bag and left my unit. I wanted to close the door and leave Myers outside of my unit but hell! This is just great! "Get fvcking inside."

Walang imik namang sumunod si Ivan saka ko isinara ang pintuan. I motioned him to sit on the sofa even if I didn't want to.

I went to the kitchen before shouting, "What do you wanna drink? Water with poison or juice with acid?"

"Anything that can kill me right away," walang gana niya namang sagot.

I shrugged and just took a bottle of Mango juice from my refrigerator. Kumuha na lang din ako ng isang bote ng tubig para sa akin saka bumalik sa sala. "Here." I threw him the bottle and sadly, he caught it on time.

"Thanks for not hitting my handsome face," he sarcastically said.

"Don't make me puke." I sat on the single sofa right across from him, then crossed my legs after reaching the printed initial script. "So, let's begin to finish this fast."

He just shrugged and sat properly. "All I need to do is memorize lines and act them out, it shouldn't be that hard."

I bitterly chuckled. "Really? So what? You were born to be a perfect actor?"

"I perfectly acted fine after you broke up with me."

Saglit kaming natahimik. I didn't expect him to bring that up. I cleared my throat. "Let's talk about rules, Myers. Number one, never bring up anything about the past, about anything between us. Let's stay professional."

I saw him roll his eyes and leaned his back on the sofa. "Number two, the only topics that we'll talk about are about this movie project and acting," segunda naman niya, which I agree with.

"And number three, we shouldn't be meddling with each other's life." Tumango naman siya kaya tinapos na namin ang usapan doon. Finally, something we can both agree on.

"Well then, Ms. Davies, show me the ropes. I don't want to embarrass my family's name."

I agreed on that and started discussing the flow of the movie industry. From our training hours to script reading, to behind the camera crew, and even our co-actors.

I tried explaining it all to him in a very simple way to finish the discussion quickly. Unfortunately, we finished at around ten PM. We both haven't had our dinners yet and Mommy France was supposed to treat me.

"I believe it's time for you to leave, Mr. Myers."

"I couldn't say that I don't agree." He stood up and walked towards the main door. "Thank you for your knowledge, time, and patience, Ms. Davies."

I straightened my back. "It's part of my job."

He nodded and was about to open the door when he stopped. "Kumain ka na ba ng hapunan?"

I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "What's with the question, Myers?"

"Kasi normal akong tao at nagugutom na ako. Unless isa kang abnormal, edi sanaol," pabalang na sagot nito.

"Are you asking me to dinner?"

"I'm just asking you if you're hungry or not."

"And if I am?" I asked without emotions on my tone or on my face.

"Edi kumain ka na. Duh. Aalis na ako. Salamat ulit." With that, he left my unit.

That man is confusing the hell out of me! Iritado akong pumunta sa kusina para magsimulang magluto ng hapunan ko.
