CHAPTER THIRTY
TRECIA'S POV
"Let's break up," I said, showing no emotion whatsoever.
We're currently inside our favorite restaurant, eating our favorite meal, and sharing our favorite wine. We're supposed to be celebrating but I was not in the mood.
"Ivan, you heard me, right? I'm breaking up with you." I was looking at him seriously. I need him to understand that I have finally made up my mind.
Instead of laughs like what happened years before, Ivan flatly looked at me. "Seriously, Tres. Gusto ko lang naman kumain, ano na naman bang trip mo sa buhay?"
I glared at him before looking back at the dish in front of me and keeping my silence. Doesn't he know that I'm serious here?
A few years after I stormed out of our mansion, Martina and Theresia told us that they were having another baby other than Martha. We were happy for them and told the couple that we'll be there even before Theresia gives birth.
Though, there's no denying that in those years of being together, Dad did disown me. He seriously froze all my bank accounts, took all my cars, and even pushed me out of my condo unit. Dad also burned my contract with him, technically firing me.
So I have no place to stay, no car, no money, and no job. Basically, I'm a lot worse than poor.
I once again looked at him. "I am serious, Ivan. I'm breaking up."
Umiling siya saka uminom. "Nope, I won't let you." He went back to eating. He sliced his steak and put it on my plate. "There. Kulang ka lang sa kain."
I couldn't help but pout and eat anyway. "Why won't you break up with me? I'm already the poorest. I have nothing—"
"Correction. You have me," he said in a playful tone and even winked at me. "At ang sabi mo sa akin eh ako ang magiging sugar daddy mo. Ayos lang naman sa akin."
I let out a deep sigh. "So much for having my freedom." Napayuko naman ako saka nagpatuloy sa pagkain.
"Are you regretting it? Is it not worth it?" I quickly raised my head and looked at him. Ivan was staring at me and even if he tried to cover it, his sadness was visible.
I let out another sigh. "No. I'm not regretting anything, and you're worth it. It's just that... I don't think I'm worth your affection."
Ivan raised an eyebrow. "Are you saying that I only loved you because of your wealth? Your occupation? Your fame?"
I shook my head. "No, but—"
"No buts, Tres. Mahal kita kasi mahal kita. With or without anything, I'll love you just the same." Ivan looked so sincere that I couldn't help my eyes let out a tear. He was quick to wipe it away. "Ba't ka naman umiiyak?" He was even smiling.
I once again shook my head but this time, my lips formed into a smile. "I'm just happy—ecstatic, honestly. I'm thankful that you're with me."
His smile widened as his eyes sparkled. "Ako rin. Masaya akong kasama kita." He was happy one minute, and the next, he was glaring at me. "Pero seryoso, sasabihin talaga natin kela Martina na break na tayo?"
I chuckled and nodded my head as I continued having my dinner. "It would be fun acting, you know?"
He just shook his head and took something out of his pocket. "So paano natin sasabihin sa kanilang ikakasal na tayo?"
I froze and confusedly stared at him. "What?" "What do you mean, Myers?"
He smiled as charmingly as possible and opened the box, making my heart race. "Trecia Davies, my Tres, ang Tatlo ko," he said, "will you be... the legal owner of my heart, my soul, my mind, and my body?"
I blinked numerous times. I had a difficult time breathing. I kept looking at him and then at the pink diamond ring.
It took almost two minutes without anyone saying anything. And maybe he could no longer take the silence, he then spoke. "Hindi ka naman siguro seryoso sa pakikipag-break sa akin, diba?"
I took a deep breath before staring at him with no emotion. "But I don't want to be your girlfriend anymore—"
Ivan's eyes grew bigger. "Then be my wife!" It was pretty obvious that he was surprised and surely scared that I was serious about the breakup. As if.
I rolled my eyes before glaring at him. "I hate you! You stole my spotlight!"
Ivan was taken aback, confused by what I just said. "W-Wait..."
He told me to wait but he didn't say anything else so I rolled my eyes again. "Seriously, Myers. Are you going to say something?"
He blinked a couple of times before opening and closing his mouth with no words coming out of it.
I couldn't help but shake my head and stand up. He's got to be thankful that he did this privately or else I'm rejecting his proposal. I stood beside him and cupped his face. "I don't want to be your girlfriend, and yes, I want to be your wife. I would like to legally own you as much as you own my everything."
It was as if everything finally became clear and he was able to process the information, Ivan finally let out a wide smile. "Talaga? Pumapayag ka?"
"Gusto mong bawiin ko?" I pulled away my hands from his face and crossed them in front of my chest as I raised an eyebrow.
He quickly shook his head but the smile on his lips remained. "Wala nang bawian." Ivan stood up and cupped my face. He moved his face closer to mine as he stared at my lips. "I... love... you, Tatlo ko."
I rolled my eyes. "I said stop calling me Tatlo."
He let out a genuine smile. "Ako lang ang tatawag sa'yo nun. Katulad ng pagtawag ko sayo ng asawa ko."
I felt my heart beat faster, and this man is the reason why. "Now, are you gonna kiss me or you'll keep talking—"
Disrespectful. I was talking! I wanted to be pissed at him but he was already savoring my lips and I was enjoying it. So never mind. I won't say anything else and just enjoy this moment with the man who makes my heart beat fast.
My Ivan, my soon-to-be husband.
