"I'm sorry, but I did warn you-"
Meilani shoved her palm against his nose with full force. The proof being a sickening crunch. She cried out again when the move caused shooting pains in her wrist.
"Isao, you idiot!" Yuri pulled Mei away from him and loosened the wires. Isao's eyes stung with tears as he pinched his nose. Her hands glowed bright green against her wrists.
"She was using a jutsu! You didn't see her hands?"
"You didn't have to harm her." The elder huffed.
"I can mend it for now, but healing it will take longer than we have Tokomaru-sensei."
The elder, Tokomaru, pursed his lips. "Let's go. Blindfold her again."
Adrenaline rushed through Meilani's body. She ignored the pain in her hands and knocked Yuri on her side. She dodged the twins, shoving one with her shoulder and driving her elbow into the others shoulder. She used the momentum to flip over them and swipe Isao's jaw in a sideways kick. Before Tokomaru could nab her, she disappeared using a water-puddle technique.
The group looked around, and shouted in surprise as a wall of water hit them. Meilani used her sprint technique to bolt towards Kakashi's energy. She began to sense the others as well.
"Kurenai. Kakashi." Mei had to focus on her breathing, the kidnappers behind her were advancing fast. She dodged the wires thrown at her.
Sprinting again, she can see their figures in the distance.

"There she is!" Shikamaru placed his hands in Ne formation.
Meilani breathed in for another sprint, but gasped when Isao snuck up from behind her.
"You don't belong with them." He murmured in her ear. His arms locked around her, yet at the sight of her compact Rasengan he released her. Isao gritted his teeth, and pulled out more wires. "You could have everything!"
"I do have everything!" She shouted. Kakashi was close enough to see the fire in her eyes.
"Now, Lee!"
"Leaf Hurricane!"
Mei tripped on a wire that yanked her ankle back, but it was cut from a shuriken Kurenai threw. Lee struck Isao with his taijutsu while Shikamaru used his shadow jutsu to stop Yuri. Rika and Tsutomu watched from the sidelines.
Above Mei, Kakashi and Tokomaru faced each other, the clang of their kunai ringing between them.

"Get the hell away from her," Kakashi growled. Kurenai retrieved Mei and carried her piggyback. "Mei, are you hurt?"
"He broke my wrists." She wheezed, lying her head on Kurenai's shoulder. "The long-haired girl mended them."
Kakashi knew who she spoke about, the one who had the same floral scent from the apartment. "He dies first."
"They're not enemies." Mei tried to wiggle away from Kurenai, to no avail.
"They kidnapped you," Kurenai secured her hold on Mei's knees.
"Let her go." Rika demanded. Shikamaru scoffed, a grin tugged his lips. Tokomaru retreated from Kakashi, picking up Isao.
"This could have all been prevented if you had just gone to the Hokage!" Meilani shouted. "Why the hell should I go speak to your leader? You attacked my whole village, my own friends forgot about me! My family!"
"You already have a home and family!"
"Yuri, shut up!" Isao warned.
"You, shut the hell up." Meilani snapped. "What are you talking about, Yuri?"
Yuri hesitated. Rika debated on stepping forward, but was pulled back by her brother. "Please, Princess. Just come with us."
"Stop calling me that." Meilani's eyes blurred with hot tears. "I'm not a Princess. I'm a Kunoichi of the Hidden Leaf."

"You're a selfish bitch." Yuri retorted. Kakashi's eyes narrowed at her.
"Watch your mouth. Meilani is the most selfless person we know." Kakashi answered, signaling Kurenai behind him. She unleashed her genjustu on Tokomaru and Isao.
"Don't kill them." Mei pleaded. Kurenai nodded, and the two passed out while grabbing their necks. A cloud released Shikamaru's jutsu, and Yuri got an advantage on Lee for half a second before she made a run for Mei.
She was cut off by Kakashi grabbing her arm and throwing her further. She fought against Lee before snarling in anger.
"You have living family members, Meilani. Rika and Tsutomu," She pointed to the two kids behind her. "Their father is Habiki Nagahime. He and their uncle, Nintoku, were double agents for our leader, but they've been AWOL for some time."
Kakashi looked at Mei, who had buried her face behind Kurenai's hair. Kurenai was mumbling something to Mei, so Kakashi answered for them.
"Habiki and Nintoku Nagahime were killed in battle. They died protecting Meilani and I while we were retreating back to the Leaf."
Yuri shook her head in disbelief. Tsutomu dropped to his knees sobbing.
"Habiki's dying wish was for Mei to live and return safely to the Leaf."
Yuri's eyes moved back and forth, conflicted. She glanced at her Sensei's unconscious body.
"Surrender to us, and the Hokage might be willing to hear you out."
"We can't take them all back by ourselves, Kakashi-sensei." Shikamaru pointed out.
