Kakashi stopped and turned towards Mei, fighting a grin as she ran straight into his chest. He caught her when she stumbled back from the force. Mei clung to his forest green sweatshirt, and she blinked a few times before snapping out of his gaze.
"Oops." She rebalanced herself and adjusted her cropped orange hoodie. As well as the straps of her brown backpack. "I mean, not oops. What was that for?"
"We're almost there. I want you to put this on."
He showed a blue bandana in his palm. She raised a brow and looked at him skeptically.
"I think I wanna try this out in private first." She warily picked up the cloth.
He rolled his eyes. "It's for your surprise. Now will you get your mind out of the gutter and put it on?"
She pressed her lips together, holding the band against her eyes. "That's saying something, coming from you."
He shushed her, securing the band to make sure she couldn't peak through. Kakashi grinned at her pushed up lips and gave her a slow peck.
"Come on, I'll take it from here." He took her right hand and, after turning his back to her, guided it to his shoulder. Mei hopped onto his back and snuggled her face into the back of his neck.
"Lead the way, Hatake." Her lips against his skin sent chills down his body. His hands gripped the back of her thighs firmly before sprinting. Mei giggled, tightening her hold after the sudden kickoff.
The cloth guarded the top half of her face from the chilly wind that rushed past them. She pressed her lips and nose firmly against the top of his spine between his hair and shirt. He didn't mind the feeling at all, in fact he wondered if she would want a mask in the colder months.

"We're only a few minutes away, Princess."
His thumbs rubbed her thighs instinctively. She nodded, and enjoyed the shaking sound of the leaves they rushed by. With the air came the sweet musk of drying leaves and the petrichor of damp soil. It blended well with Kakashi's scent.
The closer they grew to the location, the more aggressive the flutters in his stomach moved. He had hoped the flowers were still in full bloom, and that the weather along the border between the Land of Wind and Rivers hadn't been too harsh with rain. The thought of disappointing Mei with half wilted flowers made his palms clammy.
He wasn't wearing his gloves, but she thankfully chose to wear the thicker leggings he bought her for the chillier days coming soon.
Kakashi slowed his pace and relaxed when he saw the flowers were still vibrant. Though the hues weren't as intense as the earlier weeks, the fields were still just as breathtaking.
Kakashi managed to find some higher ground where the earth wasn't as damp, yet flowers still surrounded most of their vision. His forefinger tapped her, and she hopped down gently. Meilani felt him tug a strap and handed him the backpack.
"Ready?" He asked her, chest to chest. She nodded, holding his wrists as he untied the blindfold. He kissed between her brows after sliding the cloth down. Slowly, to adjust to the light, Mei opened her eyes and blinked a few times before looking up at her beloved.

"I figured before the meeting, you'd need something to take your mind off of everything for a while. A place where you can feel at ease. I know it's not the beach, but..."
He stepped aside, watching her eagerly with one eye open. Her brown orbs stared moon-eyed at the stunning view before her. She kept a hand on his chest while she appreciated the orange, purple, yellow and red wildflowers scattered across fields beyond their vision. She beamed and inhaled the fresh sweet smells, exhaling with goosebumps all along her body and even her face.
"This is gorgeous. You found it after a mission?"
"Mhm." He watched her turn around and view the other side. She noticed a large red sunflower nearby and, with a grace he's hardly seen, she glided towards it. She bent her knees slightly beside it and touched a silky petal. He nodded encouragingly when she looked further into the field and back at him.
"Go on ahead, Princess."
For a few minutes, he watched her leap around the flowers and admire them all. When she knelt beside a small bed of multi-colored daisies, he set up the space for their meals.
Mei returned with a red daisy tucking it above Kakashi's right ear.
"You know, you look really handsome in green." She removed a blade of grass from his sweatshirt.
