The rain pattered heavily against Mei's apartment building. She left her balcony door cracked open while her tea finished brewing. Along her coffee table, the books she'd been studying beside her notebook and scrolls she needed for practice. She rubbed her eyes and groaned at their soreness. Mei had been determined the past few days to complete her training as fast as possible. That way, she could spend the rest of her time enjoying her home before her next journey. Before the storm clouds came in, her and Kurenai had been training per her request. Though after her friend left, she continued to push herself until now.
However, as Mei opened her eyes to blink she noticed the blurriness wasn't going away. In fact, the more she blinked, the more difficult it became to see. Mei took a breath to steady herself before bringing her hands to Hitsuji formation. Hopefully, training Naruto to use her whispers in the wind will pay off.
Naruto, are you in the village?
She waited a few minutes, jumping when she heard his voice whispering.
I'm heading to Granny Tsunade now. Why, what's up? Hey, this jutsu is kinda cool!
She squeezed her eyes shut after trying to open them again and seeing only blobs of color in place of the furniture and decor.
Something weird is happening to my eyes. I can't see. Can you let her know?
Naruto tilted his head. Sure, no problem. What's wrong with your eyes?

"Princess?" Kakashi pulled open the balcony door. He removed his shoes and reached out to Mei's hands reaching out to him. "What's going on?"
"I'm having trouble seeing." She frowned, her eyes watering from the brightness. The only part she can make out of kakashi is his jacket. "Every time I open my eyes, it's blurrier than the last."
"Keep them closed." He said, guiding her to the couch. "I'll get you a pillow."
"You're always taking care of me." She huffed, lying down.
"And you're always feeding me." He called from her bedroom. Listening to his footsteps, Mei lifted herself by her elbows to let him glide the pillow under her. "I don't mind it, really."
"Thank you." She felt him kiss her forehead.
"I'm a bit late meeting Guy at the Eastern training grounds. Can I stop by late tonight?"
She smiled facing his voice. Mei reached her hands out to find his head and ran her fingers through his damp hair. A part of her wishes to open her eyes and see. One of the many sights she had grown fond of is Kakashi with wet hair. The way his silky hair glistened and hovered over his godlike features sparked both heat and wonder inside her.
Yet she knew that if she even peeked, he would be disappointed.

"I gave you a key for a reason, Stardust. You can show up at 4 in the morning and it would be okay."
"Alright. Get some rest, darling."
She breathed in his scent as they kissed. As he departed, Kakashi left her balcony just as it was before. In hopes that the sound of the open door would lull her to a state of relaxation.
Some time went by when Mei heard Naruto fumbling with the door handle. "It's unlocked!"
"Hey, I brought Granny with me."
"Hi, Auntie." Mei hoisted herself up to a sitting position. "I've kept my eyes closed for about 20 minutes now."
"Let's see." Tsunade lifted Mei's chin and observed her open eyes. Once in the regular light, and then with a flashlight. Mei squinted and winced at it's brightness, and focused anywhere except the light in her visions center. "I see. The King warned me about you possibly straining your eyes. But, no need to worry." She stood and fetched a small jar from the inside of her coat. "He provided the ingredients necessary to create a drop solution."
Tsunade reviewed the small note attached before screwing the cap off. Mei felt her stomach drop, and her body tensed for a moment before her adrenaline spiked.
"All you need is two drops per eye every 8 hours until your vision improves. What time is it now?" She turned her head to the clock on the kitchen. "Only 5 in the evening. Alright, Mei, lean your he-"

"Hey, where the heck are you going?!" Naruto shouted.
Tsunade's head turned to find Mei jumping off her balcony rail to the next building.
"Naruto, get her!"
Mei didn't need her eyes to jump through the rooftops of her village. She screamed as she felt Naruto grab her wrist, and slapped his hand away before sprinting forward.
"Ow! MEILANI, come on! It's just a few eye drops." He dodged her hand swipe but couldn't dodge her kick the side of his arm. "Stop being a baby! Iruka-sensei! I could use some help!"
Iruka looked up from under his umbrella. "What the hell is going on?"
"Don't touch me, Rue!"
"Iruka, get her now!" Tsunade yelled from not far behind.
With a groan, he abandoned his umbrella and joined the pursuit. It took nearly 30 minutes of chasing Meilani around the village to push her into a corner.
"You're gonna get sick, you know!" Naruto summoned a few shadow clones to flank his sister. "And I don't want to hear any whining about your hair."
"Meilani, this is highly inappropriate!" Tsunade yelled in surprise at the strength of Mei's deflecting arm. Iruka was kept at an arm's length, also unable to surpass her strength, and nearly fell off balance when he aimed to kick her foot out.
In the distance, Guy and Kakashi heard the commotion over their training. They paused and waited as it drew near, and Guy laughed enthusiastically at the sight.
"A youthful spar with the Hokage herself? May we join you?"
Mei opened her eyes for a split second to scan her surrounds. After dodging Iruka's grasp, she kicked him towards Naruto and fled deeper into the forest.
"Alright, now you're pissing me off!" Naruto pushed Iruka off of him and stood up.
"Hold on, Naruto!" Tsunade's voice made his spine rigid. Guy and Kakashi visibly shrunk when her eyes snapped to them. "You two, enough with the training. Retrieve Meilani and put two drops in each eye. I don't have time for this."
