chapter : five

the day went smoothly, katsuki spent most of it curled up close to izuku, napping soundly.

izuku noticed that the blond had been extra clingy since their morning. though he didn't complain, only found it cute how the smaller boy didn't want to leave his side.

"where are you going?" katsuki said, shooting up to pounce on izuku as he got up from his bed. izuku only laughed, "to the bathroom, kacchan."

"let me go with you." katsuki demanded his pupils turning to thin slits. he began stalking over to izuku, attempting to latch onto him.

"wha- no! kacchan, i'm just going to go pee, i don't need to be watched." izuku said, slightly flustered by the catboy's behavior.

"no, i'm going." katsuki simply said, looking into izuku's eyes. he was being assertive, not taking no for an answer.

izuku looked at katsuki, then to his door, then back at katsuki...

he then quickly ran out of his room, knowing katsuki was going to follow after him. though, he was quicker as he was able to close and lock the bathroom door before katsuki could come in.

the small blond began hissing from outside of the bathroom, clawing at the door, surely leaving scratch marks.

izuku sighed with relief. finally getting a moment to himself as he used the bathroom. though when he opened the door after using the bathroom, he noticed katsuki had been sitting in front of the door, waiting for him. he only laughed and katsuki scoffed before jumping into izuku's arms.

"i hate you." he hissed despite burying his face into the crook of izuku's neck, pulling him closer. izuku hummed, "sure you do." he said before walking back to his room.

they were now laying down on izuku's bed, katsuki's arms were wrapped tightly around izuku's torso as he purred softly.

izuku began reading a book as they sat in comfortable silence. it was an almost fairly large book about humans with powers who used them to defend against evil within their world. everyone in it had such unique powers, and izuku found himself enjoying it deeply.

he hummed happily as he continued to read. though, as soon as he turned to the next page, he was stopped by a small hand.

"stop reading you nerd." katsuki said, taking the book from izuku, and tossing it to the other side of the bed.

"wha- then what am i supposed to do?" izuku asked, looking over to his book, knowing he lost his page. ah well, he could find it later.

"i don't know. i wanna look at you but that stupid book was blocking the way!" katsuki said. sometimes, izuku just couldn't understand katsuki. the catboy was sharp yet so dull, never explaining what he was doing or why that was.

"fine," izuku sighed. katsuki grinned before getting up on top of izuku and looking down at him.

he slowly inched closer to izuku's face, looking deep into his eyes. katsuki's pupils began to dilate slowly as he got closer, izuku was confused for a moment before he rose to place a kiss on katsuki's lips.

it was quick yet enough to make katsuki flinch. "don't do that, stupid!" he gasped, his face growing warm as he cupped a hand over his mouth.

"you don't like kisses? i was sure you did earlier," izuku said, sitting up against his headboard. "that was different!" katsuki argued, looking away.

"really? how come?" izuku asked. katsuki wrapped his tail around himself, his face growing redder.

"because you were touching me." katsuki mumbled, pressing his thighs together with embarrassment.

"oh? so i have to be touching you to kiss you?" izuku asked with feigned innocence. katsuki gasped, "n-no! i-" he couldn't get his words out, he was too flustered.

"shh, it's okay, i know what you meant, kacchan." izuku giggled, pulling katsuki close. "you can kiss me now," the blond whispered, his face still a warm crimson.

izuku hummed before placing a chaste kiss on katsuki's lips, earning a soft smile from the smaller boy. katsuki curled up on top of izuku once again, a satisfied smile on his face.

they spent the rest of their day just like that, cuddling until the sun went down. they were now ready for bed, izuku's room dark.

"kacchan?" izuku hummed.

"hm?" katsuki looked up, his ruby pupils seemingly glowing in the dark.

izuku turned to the boy at his side, looking down at him before smiling softly.

"happy birthday." he said softly, before placing a soft kiss on katsuki's forehead.

katsuki was frozen, still processing what izuku had said before his cheeks began to heat up. he was taken by surprise. he understood the concept of birthdays yet hearing izuku mention his made his heart race and his face feel warm.

"yeah, whatever." katsuki simply responded, not knowing how to react. izuku laughed, "i'll take that as a 'thank you'." he said.

katsuki only grumbled, curling into izuku's side, hiding his face. it was quiet again before katsuki spoke up.

"thank you, deku." he said quietly, thinking izuku couldn't hear him.

surely enough, the green-haired man did. a soft smile tugged at his lips before he fell asleep with katsuki in his arms, sleeping as well.
