(Hiccup's POV)
I hesitated at her questions. How did you tell a kid that the crown princess might be in danger when the boogie man is the cause? Especially without freaking her out too much. Turns out not all of us were worried about that.
"We found out that your sister Elsa might be the target of the boogie man and he plans on using her somehow to put the world into deep fear. We are here to stop that." Merida explained and we all looked at her, she did realize we were talking to a kid younger than us who lives in a palace and has most likely not had much action in her life because of it.
"The boogie man?" Anna asked, looking at us like we were insane and Jack nodded. "He's just a story."
"Most people would say the same about your sister's powers." Jack argued and she looked between the four of us in silence, looking for any sign of doubt, but she didn't find anything.
"Say that you are right, you won't find her here." she said and I frowned.
"Why is that?"
"She panicked yesterday and ice erupted from her room, winter spreading everywhere and she ran." she said and I hesitated, she was already gone.
"And where did she go?" I asked and now it was her turn to hesitate.
"I'll tell you, on one condition." she said, raising her head high to look at us properly.
"What?" Rapunzel asked and she took a deep breath.
"I'm coming with you." she said and we all reacted differently. Rapunzel smiled slightly, Merida nodded in liking, Jack chuckled while I frowned.
"That would be incredibly dangerous." I said and she nodded.
"But it is my sister out there. I'm not going to leave her to some strangers or the boogie man. I'll tell you what I know if you let me come with." she said, looking me in the eyes defiantly and I sighed, looking to the others for help. They seemed a bit hesitant as well.
"That's still asking for a lot, we don't exactly want to put a little girl in danger. So we have conditions of our own." Jack said and she turned to him, nodding for him to continue. "Number one; you don't hold back on anything you know that could help us with this, it would only make it harder to save your sister. Number two; if we get in a fight, you only fight if it becomes absolutely necessary." he said, before turning from her. "Anything you'd like to add, guys?" he asked and Merida took a step forward with her eyes on the girl.
"I'll need bow and arrows to be at my best in a fight." she said and the girl nodded.
"No matter how scared you get, don't attack toothless." I said and the girl furrowed her brows.
"What's a toothless?" she asked and I smiled.
"He's a dragon." I said and she furrowed her brows further.
"You're afraid I'll hurt your dragon?" she asked, just to make sure and I nodded. "Alright, I agree to all of that, anything else?" she asked and Rapunzel nodded.
"My chameleon, Pascal, he could freeze to death out there so he can't come. Someone will have to take care of him." she said and the girl nodded, only now noticing the little green creature on Rapunzel's shoulder since he had been camouflaged blond and purple just moments before.
"I have a maid-servant who likes animals." she said and Rapunzel nodded with a smile. It was quiet for a while, then Jack clapped his hands together and said;
"Good, now here's the plan."
***
Just like the last time we had a plan, it didn't go so well. The plan was to go under the radar around the frozen lake and find someone who could give us directions. From there, we would follow those directions until we find either the sister or a trace of her.
Instead, we nearly got attacked by a man who works in a sauna because Merida has no manners, but somehow, Rapunzel got him to sing until he was so happy that he gave us everything in his winter section for free; I would have fallen off the mountain if toothless hadn't caught me; we got attacked by horses made of black sand and then Rapunzel was taken.
That last part is not really for me to explain, so I'll just tell you about the attack that caused it.
We had been walking for over two hours, only briefly stopping in the warm shop the sauna-guy owned. He had told us to go to the mountain if we wanted to find something strange, so we did.
There was this one place where a cliff went straight up before us and most of us would not be able to get up there, so we climbed by going around it.
Somewhere, my foot had slipped on ice and I almost went tumbling down half of the mountain. Toothless caught me before I could, but I let out a loud scream before that happened, which echoed all around us.
"Maybe no one heard." Anna said hopefully, nervously looking around us. A few minutes later, I was almost believing her. Then we found ourselves surrounded; night-mares.
Obviously, everything is going great for this group xD. No, but in all seriousness, prepare for this to escalate and not in a good way (for them, not in a way that means I don't like the story-line coming our way). I'm excited and I hope you are too.
