Watch out

(Rapunzel's POV)

The night-mares were like nothing I have ever seen before. I hadn't even seen how it looked when Merida was possessed since she was back to normal by the time I reached them. All I had seen of that Pitch guy's sand is just that, sand.

But these, they were living creatures made of pure black sand with bright yellow sand as eyes, and they radiated with fear, which didn't help with the fear coming from having no idea what we are up against.

"How do you beat sand?" Hiccup asked, glancing at Jack, who did not seem too confident.

"You fight and hopefully, they die." he said and I took a deep breath, slowly letting out my hair from the braid it was in because I doubt a frying pan will be of much help here. Merida brought out her bow and pulled an arrow from her queue, Hiccup brought out some fire sword, Jack just readied his staff while Anna did what we agreed to and stayed back.

The mares approached quickly and we soon had no other choice but to fight. I put all my focus on the threat before me and started using strings of my hair as whips, though it didn't do much more than hold them off, it didn't really hurt them.

"So, how are these things made?" I asked, slowly building an idea in my mind, though I would need some confirmation before trying it.

"I have this friend, Sandy... he gives people good dreams... if Pitch touches the dream sand, he can transform them into these guys." he explained between grunts of exertion.

"So basically, they are wounded dreams?" I asked and saw him cast me a confused glance.

"You could say that." he said and I nodded. With a deep breath, I started singing my song, and slowly but surely, my hair started glowing, making Anna gasp. Once the glow was there, I continued singing silently, while using the hair as whips once again.

As soon as the hair hit the mares, the healing abilities came forward and healed the dream-sand from the nightmare infection, turning it back into dream-sand, which disappeared into the night.

"That's actually... pretty smart, good thinking." Jack said though I focused on the song instead of saying anything back. The number of mares reduced quickly until it looked like we actually stood a chance of winning, then a fearful gasp caught my attention, making me stop singing and my hair went back to normal.

I turned around to see Anna cornered by six night-mares. I was too out of breath to start singing in time and the others were preoccupied, so I did the only thing I could do.

"Watch out!" I called, throwing myself her way and she moved aside so that I wouldn't accidentally push her off the mountain. I quickly grabbed her by the arm and pushed her towards the others, just before the mares charged, pushing me off the edge.

I must have passed out because when I opened my eyes again, I was in a cave somewhere, wrists tied together around some thin but tall rock. Something was touching my hands and back, it kind of felt like someone was tied against the same rock. I moved my hands curiously and felt whoever it was jumping in surprise.

"I'm not going to hurt you." I said quietly, in case our captivator was anywhere near.

"Who are you?" a female voice asked and I realized who it was.

"I'm Rapunzel, are you Elsa?"

"How do you know that?" she asked cautiously and smiled, maybe something good could come from being kidnapped.

"I've met your sister. She, three others, and I left to save you. We were attacked, but the others are still out there." I explained and she gasped, sounding panicked.

"Anna is out there? It is not safe-"

"I know, but she wouldn't take no for an answer. But don't worry, she has three skilled people and a dragon by her side."

"A dragon?" Elsa asked and I chuckled breathlessly.

"Yes. But that is not important right now. Right now, we need to get you out of here. I might be able to untie you if you just stay still." I explained and hopefully I was right. I did have some experience in tying and untying knots during my chores, but I had never tried it while tied up and while having my back turned towards the knot in question.

"But... what if I hurt someone?" she asked as I started working on the knot.

"You won't. And even if you do, I think you'll do more harm in Pitch's grasp. Besides, your sister will not give up until she finds you." I explained, feeling a part of the knot unravel, my fingers already feeling raw from picking at it.

"Okay. Alright." she mumbled and I sighed in relief. If she refused to cooperate, there would be nothing I could do. The final piece of the knot unraveled and she pulled her hands away, standing up and walking over to me. She was probably going to untie me but froze in her steps at the sound of quiet voices and footsteps coming our way.

"You need to go." I said and she looked horrified.

"But... I can't just leave you."

"Yes, you can. It will do no one any good if we both remain. Now go and find the group of people, you will know for sure it's them when you see your sister." she hesitated for another second, before nodding and turning around. She ran out and I sighed in relief while noting that the voices were almost here. Quickly, I relaxed my body and closed my eyes, leaving only a small gap that I could look through.

Pitch walked into the cave-room along with a hooded figure. They stopped by the entrance, speaking in muffled voices that made it impossible to hear their words, and neither could I hear who the hooded person was.

"Huh. Looks like young Elsa has escaped." Pitch said suddenly, just loud enough for me to pick it up. The hooded figure mumbled something and Pitch chuckled. "Rapunzel is still here and asleep." he said and the hooded figure nodded, before pulling off their hood, revealing their face. "I suggest you stay in the shadows as I am going to wake her now." he added before I could process the reveal fully.

He walked over to me as the accomplice hid out of sight. Without care, Pitch's hand grabbed me by the shoulder, shaking it and I jolted up.

"What... you." I said, faking confusion though not faking the disgust, and he smiled.

"Don't fret little one, you won't have to worry about me much longer. I'd worry about you." he said and I frowned in confusion. He brought up a closed hand, opening it to reveal black sand and my eyes widened, but there was nothing I could do to stop him as he blew the sand into my face.

So, it is Friday. It is September. Can we skip to October already? And I only need one reason for that to be a legitimate request; Halloween. I'd also like to skip something else this month, but Halloween is still enough of a reason. So, yeah.

Do you like September? Or do you agree on skipping to October?
