Chapter 19 - Her sacrifice

~Phoenix's POV~

Golden...angel...wings. Why do I have a pull to this person. Why do I have an uneasy feeling. The person turns to us and its her. Its Mineran, but she looks different. Her eyes are completely white, her skin is so pale and she has fricken wings! Shes so beautiful.
"Its to late to prepare. Get everyone to the great ones cave. Stop at every pack you know and tell them they goddess told them to go there as well. Keep Ariea safe, shes not ready for this battle." She turns back around and stretches her wings out, but something cuts right through one of the wings and its falls to the ground. Ariea screams and runs towards Mineran.
I hurry everyone towards safety, sending a few of my gaurds out to warn the packs that arent on the way to the great ones cave. I cant get to Ariea right now, shes running to fast and I have an entire pack to worry about.

An hour later almost every single pack is in the cave. I had to explain to the great one what was going on and he helped get everyone comfortable. Not everyone has met him and they are memorized by him. I wait impatiently at the cave opening for Mineran and Ariea to get here but there is no sign of them.

Its now midnight, they still arent here. Some people are sleeping, some are talking, most the males are on high alert to protect their mates, kids, and family. The ones who havent met their mates are protecting woman they have never met. Different packs are protecting each other, no matter how much they hate each other.
Ariea runs into the cave screaming for everyone to get as far back as possible, and everyone does so.
Mineran runs in after her, bloody and bruised she uses her only wing to help blick the cave entrance and the great one rushes to her side. Pack leaders begin lining themselves up behind them. Its amazing how we all come together, protecting the weak ones in the back, strongest up front. Ariea pushes her way through the crowd towards Mineran. She stops beside me and whispers, "You wont like whats about to happen but its why she found me when she did. Just take care of my sister." As she walks to Mineran she grows rapidly until hes a teenager, about the same age as Mineran and grabs her hand. They both step just outside the cave and I can see what happens clearly. She rips of her other wing and sets it on the ground. I cant hear what they say to each other but Ariea steps onto the wing and Mineran takes a blade and they both cut their arms, spreading their blood on the ground from the wing to the walls of the cave opening. Then Ariea hugs her sister and steps outside the boundary, taking the knife and plunging it into her chest. Her hair goes white and she falls to the ground. The earth consumes her body quickly like a sinkhole and the cave seals itself off, shutting everyone inside away from the outside world.

~Mineran's POV~
She sacrificed herself in my place. She saved everyone so that I could help guide everyone. I turn to everyone with tears streaming down my face.
"In a few days the cave will open back up to a fresh world. The creatures that attacked will be gone and we can go back to our lives. Until then we need to stay calm and hope we have enough supplies to last."
I fall to the ground exhausted and silently begin to cry. My goddess sister is gone and im alone once again.
