Chapter 18 - Golden Wings

After about an hour the girl leaves and I sit down at the small round table in the corner of the shack. I still have to make food for Ariea, she eats a lot compared to me. I lay my head down on the table and start to doze off. Hes coming. I snap my head up and lookat Ariea.
"Did you say something sweety?" She looks at me confused and shakes her head. I know Cass isnt talking to me because she shut herself away when I left the pack house. I look around the shack and get a weird feeling.
"Ariea come here!" I quickly get up and grab her backing up to the door.
"Whats wrong sissy?" She cant sense it. Why cant she sense it?
After a few minutes of standing with my back against the door my stomach sinks and i grab the door handle with my left hand while holding Ariea with my right. I swing open the door and rush outside, looking back into the house to see snarling teeth and demonic eyes. That is not a wolf.
"Ariea I need you to do something for me." I set her down but continue to stare at the thing in the shack.
"Run. Run to the pack house. Get anyone strong. We are all in danger and I need you to do your part and warn them."
She looks confused. "But what do I tell them?"
"Just run and tell Phoenix to get his strongest wolves ready. Tell him that im sorry and tell him that even if he hates other packs he needs to warn them that they are also in danger. Now run along, quickly." She turns and runs in the correct direction.

~Ariea's POV~
I run even though my legs are hurting. Sissy told me to warn the pack but I dont know what im warning them about. She was staring at the inside of an empty shack but maybe she saw something I didnt.

I arrive at the pack house and pound on the door. A little girl opens the door looking confused.
"I need Phoenix!" I shout at her and she grabs my hand and runs into the meeting room. Theres four other pack leaders talking to Phoenix but when I enter they all stop talking.
"Why are you interrupting us brat!" One of the other leaders shouts at me. I look directly into Phoenix's eyes and as calmly as possible I say, "She saw something in the shack that I didnt even sense, she says that all the packs are in danger and to get the strongest pack members you can." Everybody laughs except for Phoenix. He stands up and looks at all the other leaders. He nods his head and they leave.
"Ill do what I can, but where is she at?"
"Shes still at the shack, I think shes trying to hold it back or something to give us time to prepare for an attack."

Just then a crashing sound can be heard. Everyone runs outside to see what happened. Theres fog covering the grounds and something rises up from it. Phoenix yells at everyone to prepare for a fight and they all brace themselves, but they all relax in amazement as golden wings emerge from the back of the person. Phoenix sounds a little confused when he speqks, "Mineran?"
