Alexa's words reaching my ears, Emery jumped off me like she'd been caught redhanded cheating on her spouse of twenty years or something.  The ginger-haired girl stomped over to me with a demanding but remorseful look in her eyes, completely ignoring Emery.

"Are you serious?" she asked, the pain apparent in her eyes, though it did nothing to quell the furiousness brewing in me.

"Okay, I don't know what's going on between either of you, but I really don't want any part of it. I'm sorry, Morgan, you're sweet but it's clear you're not over her," Emery said as she gathered her purse and keys, walking out of the bedroom.

What the hell does she mean "I'm not over her"? Every piece of evidence points to me being over Alexa.

"I hate you," I spat at Alexa, "you always fucking ruin everything." Emery had been so close. I could feel her breath on my neck, her eyes on my chest, but no, that fucking Hart girl had to interrupt. I worked so hard to get her to this point. I apologized on behalf of Alexa so many times I lost count, I begged Emery to just believe nothing was happening. I wanted to feel something so badly, that when Alexa interrupted my time with Emery, I lashed out. I knew my words were harsh and my heart was being shredded by her sallow look, but I continued. "Just fucking leave me alone. I don't want you. You blew everything we ever had.

Her eyes softened enough to let me see a glimmer of hope. "What do you mean?" Alexa asked lowly.

"What the fuck does it sound like I mean?" I said through gritted teeth, still equally as frustrated with the situation. "You can't deny we had something, but your stupidity ruined it. Just like you ruin everything. It was so stupid of me to think that I could ever love you. Just get out of my god damn house, Alexandria."

"That's not what I meant. What do you mean, 'I don't want you?'" the taller girl questioned me as she took her hands out of her pockets, my comment about loving her simply rolling off her back.

"Yeah, you heard me," I said smartly, "I don't want you. At least not anymore." Trying to read her body language, I stood up, giving her a once over. "Now, we're done here. So get out," taking a step towards her, I brought my hand up, pointing to the door, "Go."

"So, at one point, you wanted me?" Alexa asked curiously, cocking her head to the side.

"Was that not clear enough at dinner the other week? Anyways, that's not relevant. Get out," I muttered sighing frustratedly, still pointing to the door.

Taking a step towards me, she gently placed her hand on my arm, bringing it to my side. "Now, Morgan, that's not very hospitable. Shouldn't you show your childhood best friend some courtesy?" she smirked obviously not taking the situation seriously.

"No, out now," I said loudly, walking to my bedroom door.

Following me, the ginger-haired girl easily strode past me, stepping in front of the door quickly. "Look at me," she commanded, and with those words, my eyes flew up to meet hers. "Do you want me out?"

No, obviously, I don't want you out.

"Yes," I said trying to keep my voice from shaking.

"Are you lying to me?" Alexa asked, her eyes boring into me. Her face was inches away from mine, just like Emery's had been less than an hour ago.

Looking at my feet, I couldn't bring myself to lie to her. Nodding slowly, I felt her hand touch my chin, bringing it up so she could look into my eyes.

The tense mood hanging in the air dispersed as she leaned against the door, slumping into herself. "Morgan, I know I treated you shittily, and honestly, I shouldn't even be here right now. You don't know how much I tried to talk myself out of this, but I can't just watch you be with her without trying to explain myself," she said, her prior confidence seeping away. "The moment I remembered everything, I wanted to tell you. I wanted you to feel the euphoria that I felt. So, when you said you already knew, I couldn't imagine why you didn't tell me."
