*Bang Bang*
"Kendall, get up, get up." Zach whispered.
"W-what's happening?" I asked still half a sleep.
"I think someone's trying to break in," Zach was now up, searching the room.
"What, how?"
I quickly sat up. Very confused. I had no idea what was happening.
"Are you sure? It could just be B-Dad cooking breakfast." I finally asked.
"I'd love to say you're right, but you're not." He gestured me to walk over.
I tiptoed towards him, to see what he wanted me to see.
"Who's that?"
There was a very tall man, pale skin, dark hair, and very thin. He looked like he could be in his late 30's early 40's.
"Who is that?" I asked, walking closer to the window trying to see who it is.
"I have no idea."
A second later, B-Dad greeted the man. They both seemed very happy, until they started talking a little bit. B-Dad looked confused, but with no hesitation he let the man in.
"Kendall quickly get dressed, I-"
"This is all I have to wear." Now I, was confused once again.
"Come here, quick."
Zach leaded me to a door, which lead into a closet.
"Pick something out, I'll make sure no one comes in while your changing."
"Uh, okay. I'll be in the bathroom."
I grabbed a t-shirt and a pair of jeans, then ran to the bathroom to get changed.
I had picked out a plain violet top, with dark jeans. I fixed my hair so I looked a little nicer. I quickly walked out of the bathroom, back to where Zach was.
"What are you doing?"
Zach had is ear to the door, being very quiet.
"I'm trying to hear what they're saying." He whispered.
I stood there for a few minutes, starring at him.
"Well," I began. "Can you hear anything?"
"Barely."
He walked away from the door.
"Should we see what he's here for?"
"No. If they want to speak to us they'll call. Let's just wait until we know it's safe."
I nodded my head. I didn't have much to say since I was still terrified from the banging earlier.
"Hold on, let me go get them for ya." We heard a fimiliar voice say.
"Kendall someone's coming!" Zach backed away from the door, and ran to the couch trying to act natural. I did the same thing, so it didn't feel so awkward for Zach.
The door slowly opened. A face peeked in the room. Thankfully it was just B-Dad, but what does he want us for?
"Kendall, Zach, there's someone here waiting for you."
I nervously looked at Zach. Who could it be? And why were they here?
"It's okay, he's very friendly." B-Dad spoke once again, trying to persuade us to follow.
"W-who?" I whispered in fright.
"It's a surprise." B-Dad started. "Now come on, he's eager to see you two!"
Zach and I finally gave in. We both got up, and slowly walked towards B-Dad.
He lead us to a room I'd never been in before. I assumed it was a living room. There was a black leather couch, infront of a fireplace. The room was also extremely dark, since all I saw was the couch, fireplace, and the man I saw through the window.
The man stood up when we entered the room.
"Kendall, Zach, this here is Mr. Felton."
"Hello." Said Mr. Felton.
"Mr. Felton, why don't you tell them why you are here? I'm sure they're dying to know." B-Dad said.
"Oh, um okay. Well," Mr. Felton started. "I heard that you two both ran away from home, and were living out in the woods before you came here, with B-Dad. Is that correct?"
Zach, and I both nodded our heads. I was more nervous than I had ever been in my whole life! Did he work with the police, and was going to take us in? How did he know we ran away from home?
"Well, I thought 'Why don't they come live with me to take some pressure off of B-Dad?' So, would you two be okay with that?"
He looked back and forth at Zach and I.
"Yeah, that would be alright." Zach finally said.
Mr. Felton was now looking at me. I didn't know what to say. I have no clue who this man is!
"Kendall, I won't leave with just Zach. You have to agree as well."
I gulped, trying to think of what to say.
"Kendall, he's a good man. He won't hurt us." Whispered Zach. He must've noticed how nervous I was.
"You know him?" I whispered back.
He nodded his head. I had no choice. I had to say yes. If Zach knows him, and trusts him, then he must be okay. I took a deep breath before speaking.
"Okay, I'll come."
"Wonderful!" Mr. Felton began. "Now why don't you two go pack your bags, and we'll head off once you're ready."
We both nodded, and headed back to the bedroom.
"How do you know him?" I asked Zach once we got in the bedroom.
"He's a good friend of B-Dad. I met him when I first came here."
"Why didn't you recognize him when we saw him through the window?"
"I couldn't see him very well, and he has changed from the last time I saw him."
"Oh."
The room was silent for a moment until we had finished packing what we had. (Which was very little.)
"Come on Mr. Felton is waiting for us. We should hurry." Zach said.
"Alright, I'm ready."
We walked back into the dark living room where B-Dad and Mr. Felton was.
"Alright guess we better start going," Mr. Felton said as he stood up. "Well it was nice to see you again Bob."
"You too." B-Dad shook his hand.
Mr. Felton turned to us once again to speak.
"Okay you two, let's get going. It's a long journey to my place."
We waved goodbye to B-Dad, then left the store. I was still unsure about Mr. Felton, but I knew I was being silly and shouldn't judge him. Even though he is very mysterious looking.
