I was sitting there on the bed with Zach when we heard footsteps coming closer to the door. I quickly got off the bed, and ran to 'my side' of the room. By the time the door opened Zach and I were both laying on the bed pretending nothing happened.
"Can Zach come here please."
"Uh yes Sir, I'm coming."
I turned my head slightly, so I could see him leave. When he passed my bed he gave me the signal to go. I knew I had to listen to Zach. I got up, and ran to the officer. I pretended like I actually had to go to the bathroom, so he would believe me.
"Sir, officer. May I please go to the bathroom. I really need to go."
"Yup follow me."
He lead me to the girls bathroom. I was relieved he believed me, but I was also scared. I didn't want to leave Zack, but if I wanted my 'dream life', I would have to.
"Here's the bathroom. Now don't escape. I'll be back in 10 minutes." The officer had told me, in such a boring voice, it sounded like he hated his job.
"Don't worry Sir, thank you."
I quickly pushed the door opened and opened one of the stall doors. I looked back to make sure the door had closed, and thankfully it did. I quickly searched around the bathroom trying to find a window. I didn't have much time to escape without getting caught. I finally found the window Zach was talking about. I opened it, and climbed up. The window was small, it almost looked like a door meant for a cat. It must've been at least 5 feet high. They probably did that so no one could escape. Thankfully I didn't weigh much, so I could easily pull myself up. I was just about to jump out the window, when I heard footsteps coming towards the bathroom. I normally would carefully jump out, but not this time. If I wanted to get out, I would have to jump and run. That's exactly what I did. I jumped out, closing the window behind me, and ran. I ran like there was no tomorrow. At this point I didn't care if someone saw me. I had to get out. I didn't stop running until I had reached the forest. I took a little breathing break, but after that, I kept going. No one, or nothing would stop me now.
