The police brought me to some building. I wasn't sure where I was, everything happened so fast. They brought me to a private room. There was no windows, the room was completely grey, the door looked like old, rotten, wood, and there was a mirror. I sat in this room all alone for at least half an hour. I was getting nervous. What did I do wrong? I didn't robb a bank or anything like that. I'm just an innocent girl, who ran away from home. Then it hit me. I ran away from home. They found me. Now I'm going to end up at that house, and die of starvation. I layed back in the chair. Eyes closed, hands folded relaxing on my stomache. I then heard the door open. I jolted up.
"Oh sorry, didn't mean to disturb you there."
It was a different police officer this time. Or was he a police officer? He dressed differently, but what do I know?
"Kendall Forge, right?"
"Y-yes Sir."
He then wrote something down on a piece of paper.
"Alright. Today, I am just going to ask you some questions. All you have to do is answer them the best you can, and truthfully. Understand?"
"Yes sir."
"Okay, let's begin."
He pulled out a different piece of paper this time. He then looked up at me, and started to speak.
"First of all, why are you wearing ripped clothing?"
"It's all I have Sir."
"Okay. Who was with you on the bench there?"
I took a deep breath. Scared to answer.
"Zach. I was with Zach."
"His last name please?"
"I don't know."
"Okay. Now how do you think of Zach?"
I couldn't believe what was happening. I was being asked these silly questions- well at least silly to me. I brushed some of my hair out of my face, and tried to say something.
"H-h-e-e is like a friend- well more than a friend- not in the relationship way- but a close friend."
"How close?"
"Like very close."
"So close you would tell him anything?"
I stopped speaking. Now he wanted to know how close I was with Zach. I knew if I answered this question truthfully, they would start asking Zach random questions about me. I also didn't want to lie. I thought it would be best if I didn't say anything.
"Kendall, please answer the question; how close are you, and Zach?"
"I can't say."
I heard him take a deep breath. Then he wrote something down.
"Okay, moving on. Did you run away from home, or where you kidnapped by Zach?"
"Zach didn't kidnap me!"
I got so annoyed, that I realized I had just admitted that I ran away.
"Then why did you run away?"
"Okay look. I don't know what my parents have said, but they were planning on starving me to death! I wanted to live! I knew there was something better out there. My only solution was to run away. That's how I met Zach. Look I love him! He's such a sweet boy. I can trust him with basically anything. He- he actually cares about me. So please, just let us be. Let us live where we want to live. Let us do what we want. We are perfectly happy with where we are. Now how many more questions?"
He paused for a moment. As if he wasn't sure what to say.
"There's no more questions. That's all I needed to know. Thank you."
He opened the door, and let me out. I was seated in a waiting room. I felt awful. I knew they were going to ask Zach a whole bunch of questions. I was so scared. I could feel the butterflies again. But I just sat there, waiting to see Zach. If, I get to see him. If I didn't blow our chances of being together.
