"Breaking News. After spending only two days in jail, Luke Adler has been bailed out from the Los Angeles, California Police Department and all charges have been dropped. They will not announce who the bailer is, but we know this person is somebody very close with Mr. Adler. I'm Katie Vasquez, reporting live from Los Angeles Police Department."
Ricky scoffs, turning the tv off.
"Who the heck bailed this idiot out?", he says.
"Right. I thought they weren't allowing bails on him?", Gina asks.
"Yeah...c'mon we gotta go now.", EJ says, getting up and rushing to the apartment doors.
The three get into the car and their driver takes them to the department. Once they've parked the kids walk inside and to their surprise Officer Johnson is already up front, almost like he knew they'd be showing up.
"Ah...Mr. Caswell. Mr. Bowen. Ms. Porter. Good day.", he smiles.
"Can we talk to you please? In private.", Ricky whispers.
"Sure thing. Come here.", Officer Johnson replies, leading them to a conference room.
They all take a seat around a wooden table.
"So...what brings you here today?", he asks calmly.
EJ glares at him, "With all due respect sir...you know why we're here."
The officer scrunches his eyebrows, "I'm afraid I don't. Mind explaining?"
Gins stands up, slamming her hands on the table, yelling, "Why'd you drop the charges and allow bailing on Luke?!"
The two boys could hear the pain in her voice as she spoke. They were that close to having one of the people who took their best friend locked up...and the one officer they trusted, betrayed them.
"Ms. Porter...we had no choice to drop the charges after he got bailed out", he replies, calmy.
"What do you mean you had no choice?! We talked about this already! Luke Adler kidnapped Nini! He has to pay for this!", she shouted, her voice breaking.
"Hey...it's okay.", Ej whispers to this girlfriend, interlocking their fingers.
Gina feels her eyes sting as tears are threatening to fall, she slowly sits back down in her chair.
"Officer Johnson. We don't understand why you're letting him roam the world as a kidnapper? We all know she didn't take a trip to Canada. Luke and some other idiots kidnapped her and did something bad to her before letting her go. And then you let somebody bail him out?", EJ explains.
"Kids listen...this is private information, and I cannot share the process of allowing bails on Luke. But we made an agreement with this person and if we didn't let them bail him out, we'd get sued.
"Once again...the. Stupid. Freakin. Money.", Gina mutters, glaring at the officer.
"I'm sorry. We're trying our hardest to track the others down though.", Officer Johnson explains.
"Once you find them...how about you shut up and don't make deals with people? We can't have these maniacs roaming around knowing they were able to kidnap her and get away with it. Who knows if they'd go back to take her again...or one of us?!", Gina speaks.
"Yes ma'am. We will.", Officer Johnson replies, looking at Gina.
"Yeah, I know you will. Or I'll be the one suing you.", she fakes a smile, before making her way out of the conference doors, EJ and Ricky following behind. The three got into the car and started conversating on their way back to the apartment.
