EJ blanky stares at the ruins of the building. He brings Gina into his chest as she sobs and a tear escapes from his eye.
"Is there any chance...he's- alive?", EJ manages to ask.
Officer Johnson walks up to him, resting a hand on his shoulder, "Mr. Caswell...I'm sorry but there's no way he would've survived it. That's two floors collapsing on a human."
EJ feels Gina cry harder into his chest as tears of his own begin to stream down his face.
The police, swat team, and EJ and Gina sit there in silence for the next few minutes, minus the sobs, still trying to take everything in.
Gina slowly lifts her head from EJ's chest and opens her mouth to speak.
"I can't belie-"
"What's all the crying for?", a curly haired boy says, standing in the doorway of the café, smiling.
EJ and Gina's eyes light up with joy as they rush to the boy, wrapping their arms around him.
After the moment of affection, they release Ricky from the hug and Gina slaps his arm.
"Uh...ow?!", he scoffs, "What was that for?!"
"We thought you were dead!", Gina exclaims.
Ricky sighs, "I barely made it out...I managed to get out of the door, but it was about to collapse on top of me still, so I ran to the back of the buildings...then I walked through the back door of the café."
"I'm not gonna question how you got into the café...I'm just glad your okay bro", EJ chuckles, fist bumping him.
"How's your ankle?", Ricky asks.
Gina presses her lips together, "Hurting."
"Dummy you shouldn't of ran on it.", EJ says.
"How could I not?! I thought he was dead but then no, he was standing right here.", Gina argues.
"Oookaayyy...moving on now. Anybody heard about Nini?", Ricky questions.
"Uhm...nope. She was taken to the ER as soon as they brought her outta the building.", EJ explains.
"She didn't look too good.", Gina quietly says.
"She'll be okay in no time. She's in great hands at the hospital. And...perks of being famous...she'll get extra care.", Ricky smirks.
EJ and Gina laugh at the curly haired boy.
"Sorry...not to intrude on your moment here but we need to get these kidnappers to the jail. Do you guys want a ride to your apartments or want me to call an uber?", Officer Johnson speaks.
"Um...could you take us to the hospital?", Gina asks.
Officer Johnson smiles, "Will do. Let's go."
Ricky walks to the car and EJ carries Gina to the car. They get in and begin driving towards the hospital while the cop cars take the suspects away.
"And I thought becoming famous was crazy? That was crazier.", Ricky chuckles.
"You can say that again.", Gina laughs.
A couple minutes later they arrive in the hospital parking lot.
"Thanks for the ride.", Ricky smiles at the driver.
The three friends get out and walk to the front desk.
"Hi...I'm sure you know us...", Gina starts.
The lady at the front desk looks up, shocked to see three of the most famous movie stars standing in front of her at 3am.
