a/n: lemme just say...what happens in this chapter wasn't in my notes to make happen but it sounded good so like i did it...im real bad at staying on track with what my description and everything says but it'll begin to get back onto the track here soon. sorryyyy it might be confusing bc i change things as i go but anyways enjoy this very dramatic chapter :)
...then it begins...
The door gets kicked down with a loud bang and swat team members file into the building, noticing how smoky it was.
"Why's it so foggy!", Ricky shouts, coughing.
"It's probably smoke to make you pass out! Cover your nose and mouth!", Officer Johnson shouts back.
Police are rushing through the building, trying to find the people behind this. EJ, Gina, and Ricky are attempting to make their way up the stairs, but their vision is beginning to get blurry from inhaling the smoke. They can hear shouting and yelling coming from all the police officers and they begin thinking they've found the kidnappers. The friends continue walking up the stairs when Gina loses her balance. Luckily, EJ was standing behind her and supported her on her back.
"You okay Gi?", EJ asks.
"Yeah, just feeling a little dizzy.", she replies.
Ricky stops on the stairs turning back towards his friends.
"EJ we might have to get her outta here soon...it looks like the smoke is already affecting her.", Ricky warns.
"N-no I'm okay. We need to get Nini.", Gina argues.
There was a lot of shouting and noises sounding throughout the building...not to mention the ringing alarm that wouldn't stop. It was beginning to get overwhelming with all the action happening.
They finally made it to the top of the stairs, and it was just as filled with that smoke as downstairs. They saw multiple swat guards on the floor their on.
"Did you find Nini?!", Ricky yells, over the commotion.
"No. We only found one person.", a guard replies.
"W-who?", Gina replies, blinking to try and get her vision to focus.
"It was Mr. Adler.", the guard replies.
"Okay. We need to find Nini.", Ricky says.
"We already checked the cell on this floor. She wasn't there.", another guard informs.
"Shoot.", Ricky mutters.
"Let's go to the third floor", EJ suggests.
The friends dart to the other set of stairs and being walking up.
"I'm feeling re- really loopy.", Gina says.
EJ supports her so they can continue walking up the stairs. Once they arrive on the third floor, they see an open door, the same monitors as last night, and even more people who were searching the room. Gina lifts her foot up to step onto the third floor, but she's inhaled too much smoke, causing her to miss the step, twisting her ankle and falling down. EJ immediately rushes to help her.
"Gi...can you hear me?", he asks, anxiously.
She doesn't reply so EJ gets up and rushes towards Ricky.
"Dude she just passed out.", Ej says.
"You need to get her out.", Ricky answers.
"What about you?", EJ questions.
