Chapter 4: Hollywood Records Party

NORMAL POV

Coming out of the bathroom and into the nearly empty venue where a party was minutes away from starting, Liz pulls down on the ends of her dress trying to get it longer.

"Liz, what are you doing? It goes like this." Briana says as she pulls the dress slightly up making Liz push her arms away.

"I'm coming really close into running across the street to the costume store and buying a nun outfit to wear." Liz says as Briana laughs.

"Then I'll just steal your wallet so you won't be able to do that." She says as Liz whines.

"How's our star of the moment doing?" Alyson says as she walks up to them with Kevin behind her.

"Not great. Kevin could you please take me home to get something else to wear." Liz says as Kevin shakes his head.

"There's no time. You're about to rehearse and the party's about to start at any moment. By the way can someone please tell me what's going on between you three?" Kevin says as Alyson and Briana shake their heads.

"We would if we could. You should go do a check up on the sound." Briana says pushing Kevin away.

"I'm not going to be able to perform since I feel very uncomfortable in this dress." Liz says pulling down on the dress again.

"Stop! This dress is going to help us alot with operation finding Liz's lover." Alyson says making Liz groan.

"I should have canceled!" Liz says as Alyson and Briana look at each other and shrug their shoulders.

"That's a mistake you made now get on stage and rehearse." Briana says pushing Liz on the stage that was set up.

"Hey guys." Austin says as he approaches the two girls. "Liz told me about the plan you two have." He says as Liz and her band begin playing.

"She's pretty mad but she won't be once we find her love. Now let's start thinking about what Liz finds in a guy." Briana says as they begin to think.

"Kevin has a list of everyone's who's coming. We should look at it and see if there are any eligible bachelors." Alyson says as they all agree and run to find Kevin.

"You're all set. Enjoy the party." The security guard in front of the door says to the group of 5 as he checks off their names from his clipboard.

"Awesome our first Hollywood Records party! Make it count everybody." A guy who was a bit older than Liz says to the group he came in with.

"We get it Riker you're excited. We are too but that doesn't mean you have to announce it every 5 minutes." Another guy who was in the same group as he was says to him.

"Hey guys look we came just in time. I think a performance is about to happen." The only girl in the group says as they walk towards the big group of people that was forming around the stage.

"Ross, are you okay. I mean c'mon this is a party have fun." Riker says to the youngest person in the group as he shakes his head.

"I'm just thinking that's all." He responds as he decides to walk over to an empty table to sit. Lately he hasn't been feeling like himself. Ever since that day that he saw this girl at the dance studio he hasn't been able to get her off her mind. Something about her made her feel special.

"Alright everyone put your hands together for the amazingly talented Liz Jonas!" The announcer on stage says making everyone cheer loudly. Ross knew the name Liz Jonas but c'mon who hasn't. When he got the job at Disney and at Hollywood Records, he heard that name quiet a few time but has never been able to put a face to the name.

On the stage a vibrant much younger girl than Ross walked on stage with a big smile on her face. You can tell she's a happy up beat person. He's never seen someone so young perform with so much confidence.

"Thank you. Have fun tonight!" She says at the end of her performance before everyone in the room begins to scatter into small cliques.

"There you are." Ross' sister says as she walks up to him with the rest of the group following her.

"You missed a really good performance." His brother Rocky says to him as Ross chuckles.

"No I watched it all the way from here. It was really good." Ross says with a smile as they all nod in agreement.

"The DJ is about to start playing. Let's go dance." Riker says as they all nod and walk towards the dance floor.

As they all walk towards the dance floor Ross scans the room in hopes of finding Liz. There was something about her that made Ross so intrigued.

LIZ'S POV

"Liz! Liz! Over here!" I hear the Hollywood Records executive say as I walk off stage.

"Hi! Did you like that? I believe it was my best performance yet." I say to him playfully as he chuckles.

"It was a great performance and by the way I forgot to mention thank you so much for doing it with such short notice." He says as I shake my head.

"Of course I was coming either way so it wasn't a hassle to perform." I say as he nods.

"Thank you once again. Now go have fun." He says as I nod and walk away but I'm soon nearly tackled by two people.

"Alright your performance is over now time to find some potential suitors." Alyson says taking my hand and pulling me into a crowd of people.

Soon enough Alyson and Briana became preoccupied with some other friends and I managed to get away from them before they began their process of embarrassing me.

I walk out to the patio to get away from the loud music and get fresh air. I wanted to leave and go home since the party scene wasn't really me and besides I'm only here because Briana and Alyson want to find me some man candy. That's something I'm certainly not looking for.

I look inside the from the window and see people having fun and laughing with one another. I smile but then my smile suddenly drops and I become surprised to see a face that I've seen before in fact it's been a face that I've been thinking about lately.
