Chapter 16 (Part Two)

(Bobby)

I talk to myself a lot.

The other Anishifters are giving me such odd looks but I can't help but laugh inwardly at their confused expressions. They think I'm crazy. Maybe I am, but that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing.

"This way, children of trees, this is a dangerous rock for adventure," I tell them cryptically. The one girl, the brown tailed one who agreed with to follow me, simply smiles, then turns back to her friends.

"Okay, maybe he is a nut. But he's fun!" She tells them. Fox gal, the girl with the red hair, rolls her eyes.

"Salali, you're impossible," Fox gal informs her, in a seemingly non caring tone. The bird girl behind the group is seething to herself, which makes me laugh out loud. Silly bird.

"Excuse me, whatever you are," The dirt covered boy greets me. "Do you actually know where you're going?" He reeked of mud, which may be the natural smell for his kind. I, on the other hand, prefer a smell that's simply not that one.

"To the Kohuka people, or the Kahuko, or Kuhako," I say, each sounding so different but so the same. I could go on and on and-

"Kohaku," Dirt guy corrects. "So you do know where they are then, right?" He double checks.

"Oh yes. Yes I do," I reply seriously, kicking a dull stone on the ground ahead of us, which disappears in midair. There's a gasp from behind me.

"How did you do that?" A cat girl asks curiously.

"Curiosity killed the cat!" I respond off the top of my head.

"One thing he says makes sense," Fox gal mutters, and the brown tail girl elbows her lightly.

(Cat)

Walking through the woods with a somewhat crazy bird boy.

Welcome to Anlogisto life.

"He has an eon stone," Ainara tells us. "You can do magic without having to say the words out loud. It's supposed to be given to those who deserve it. Not people like him."

"Bird girl, you hurt my feathers and singe them with your words. But, autumn wasn't built in a day!" Bobby crows. "I have very pretty stone, yes," He says, taking out a plain looking stone for us to see. I peer over to look, but there was nothing out of the ordinary about the stone.

"It's a.., very nice rock," Salali musters, obviously disappointed that it wasn't sparkling rainbows, or something like that. I didn't blame her though. It was a regular grey colour, with a few specks of dirt blended well on the surface.

"I think it's boring," Makar states bluntly.

"I had it painted, they don't look like this," Bobby says, as if we should have known this. I swish my tail around, and I can see Russhell doing the same impatient movement. "It's usually bright and shining. Not hidden like this. Just have problems when I drop it but-"

"We need to keep going," Russhell interrupts. "Less distractions."

"We're already there," Bobby replies, motioning to a spot in front of him, a small clearing with a few shrubs and trees in it.

"We are?" Salali asks incrediously, and Russhell sighs.

"Well no. Maybe. Kind of," Bobby says. "Hard to tell."

"You're confusing everyone. I'm sure if we become famous someday, and someone reads this, they'll be so confused by you," Makar says, and everyone, including myself, turn to look at him. "What? Okay, I don't know where that came from but it's true."
