Chapter 10 (Part 1)

(Fenris)

I love being me when the shock appears on their faces.

Obviously I would hear something when they tried to rescue them. I admit, it was clever of them to mask their scent but never less, the wolf wins.

The fox looked at me, very daringly, though she knew that they had no chance. The buck dropped to the sand as I flashed a grin at them, showing off my white teeth. "You might be wondering why I've gathered you here today..." I started, continuing after a pause. "You are coming with us,"

They made no movement, just silence elapsed. My group moved forward, and I was glad for the rush of confidence that came over us all. They may have won last time, but now they trapped, with no way out unless to leave their friends behind.

"If you don't come willingly, I'll have a sudden hunger for squirrel, so I suggest you listen," I suggest, adding a threat to it to show authority.

They shifted, knowing that the squirrel would get it if they didn't. My group moved forward and injected them with a toxin that disabled their shifting ability. They were as harmless as humans now.

We traveled out of the bush and out into the vast desert wasteland. Honestly, I couldn't see why any animal would rather live here instead of the forest, so I was eager to leave. Flicking my tail we walked the troop away to the hideout.

(Salali)

Why did my inner animal have to be a squirrel?

I have nothing against squirrels, but they are just so...weak. Squirrels are seemingly the bottom of the food chain, wherever I go. Everyone can threaten my friends because of me. I love them, but they are constantly in danger because of it.

They would probably be better off if I was just eaten already.

I'm the only one who wasn't shifted to human other than those wolves. They are probably just keeping me like this do its easier to eat me up.

Russhell keeps looking around for a way of escape, but her eyes show that she knows she's defeated. A gleam enters them for a second, but it quickly diminishes as one of the wolves look at her. What could she be planning?

Malo a malo, invistate mie. The old spell entered my thoughts and I pondered over it. I will never know how Russhell learnt these spells, but she told me this one for a reason. Invistate meant invisible and mie meant me. It was ever so handy when I would be chased.

Quickly, I chanted the spell and felt off as a tingling sensation washed over me. Looking down at myself, I smiled as the spell took affect till I could no longer look through my own body.

I glanced around to see if anyone had noticed. Their eyes were all on friends, since they could do more damage than I could. Grinning, I leapt out of the makeshift cage and landed hard on the sandy ground. Lifting myself up only Russhell seemed to notice there was something wrong.

She bent her head down and kept walking, but was searching until she spotted something that made her gasp. I watched her look straight at me and if I was in human form, I would have whitened.

Russhell nodded to me quickly before looking up again. She dragged her roped hands down toward the ground and I knew exactly what to do. Climbing onto her hands, I set to work on freeing her from the bonds. Within seconds I had her free and I jumped onto the next person.

Cat seemed completely at ease and did nothing as I undid the ropes. Buck instantly jump up and yelled and Russhell grabbed him before the wolves could. She whispered something in his ear and he nodded.

"How did you grab him with your hands tied?" The she-wolf said, raising her tail and eyeing Russhell's bare hand. Russhells eyes widened in panic and she looked at our group.

"Now!" She yelled, and grabbed her pocketknife. I jumped onto Teigra and we ran, hearing only the pounding of our heart. Makar was easily jogging away, grinning as we ran. Our glory moment was short lived and the smiles were wiped off our faces as the wolves yips and barks told us exactly where they were heading.

(Cat)

We couldn't be caught now, we just got away!

Ahead of us I spotted something that almost made me meow for joy. A village!

Russhell had the same thought. "Everyone, keep running and we can hide at that village!"

So we ran, and I wished I could shift. We would at least stand a chance. The wolves were gaining on us fast, so would we even make it?

I pushed the negative thoughts from my mind and focused on running, it was our only choice.

-I'm sorry again, I was lazy plus I have writers block! It's time for some imagination to kicked in, so hopefully I'll get inspired soon! Again, terribly short chapter but I'll try to make up for it!-
