Chapter 13
(Makar)
I honestly think that sometimes I have the best ideas in the world.
I mean really, who else would have thought of this? Its perfect! Stealing one of those weird stones can really work. And here's how.
"I already tried using my own stone to get in, but that didn't work, so we steal one of the good stones!" I said proudly. The others stared at me.
"Um, you don't mean, like, taking from the instructors..," Salali said, trailing off.
"Makar, how are we going to take from them?" Cat asked, looking skeptical at the idea. I smiled.
"Ask them or trick them."
"Makar! They are trained professionals! How in Anlogisto are we going to trick them? They'll never give it to us anyways!" Salali burst out, her tail twitching frantically.
"If we choose the right one they'll give it to us. See, we don't even need the necklaces from the room if we just steal one from the instructors!" I announced, the idea already forming in my head.
Cat looked doubtful. "Salali, its the only good idea we have and we aren't having any luck finding an entrance that doesn't need a high level necklace..," Cat said, obviously following my idea. I resisted the urge to bounce around with glee as Salali agreed.
"Fine, but which one?" Salali snapped, annoyed with having to go with the plan I made. I really don't know her problem with me, but maybe she's just a great actress. Yes, that must be it.
I stopped to think. Which one of the instructors would actually fall for it? Viper girl wouldn't, and no way would the head girl. My plan had found a rough road.
"Not mine," Cat decided knowingly, and I sighed in defeat.
"Maybe it won't work."
"Wait," Salali said. "As much as I hate this idea," she said, giving Makar a look. "My instructor would be most easiest I think, since his animal is a mouse or something. I know I hate it when people judge animals like that, but a mouse does sound easy..," she trails off, looking up at us.
"It's a great idea," Cat said, smiling. "We can get out if we take it!"
"Lets do it! Salali, you have to take it," Makar told her, and Salali looked shocked.
"M-me?" She asked. "But how?"
"Trick him, something like that. Shouldn't be too hard for you," Russhell said breezily. Salali stared at us.
"Why me?" She tried, and I smile.
"You're part of his group, obviously," I pointed out. "It'll be the easiest for you."
"We're counting on you, Salali!" Cat cheered, a grin on her face. For once, almost everyone was now agreeing with me.
Salali looked worried, but I'm not entirely sure why. She of all Anishifters could do it, after all. She was the perfect one for the job.
(Salali)
Crazy Anishifters.
Sometimes I think we have the same brain as our animal, which is why we can't think straight all the time. This is one of those times.
They expect me to do it. I've never stolen anything before.., okay, a couple of nuts. And berries. And assorted strange objects that I would find.
Point being, this wasn't the normal way of doing it. You don't just walk up and steal something. Unless you're fast enough to climb up the tree, and they don't have a flying or climbing animal to come after you.
