"Are you ready?"

She looked at Clint.

"Yes."

"Are you sure you don't need an earpiece?"

"Yes, I'm sure."

"If anything goes wrong, if he tries anything, I'm pulling you out."

"Clint, I will be fine. And if you pull me out, I will do more damage than Loki could."

"I'm serious, Nat."

Natasha smiled at him and put a hand on his shoulder.

"I know you are, and I appreciate it, but we aren't going to get anything if we continue to be afraid. We have the upper hand, even if he doesn't believe it."

"Do we really? He seems to be playing us even behind bars."

"And all we have to do is not listen."

He was silent, staring at the floor. Clint then looked up at her.

"Trying to make you leave won't work."

"Nope. I will leave when I'm ready. Everything will be fine."

"Just be careful."

"Always," she said, removing her hand from his shoulder.

Natasha stood there for a second before walking to the door. The agent opened it, and she walked through. She gave one last look at Clint before the door shut and then continued forward to the second door. She mentally prepared herself for what was to come and watched the door in front of her open as she looked directly at the god of mischief.

She walked forward, not breaking eye contact, stopping in front of his cell. The god stared back at her, a smirk forming on his face.

"Ms. Romanoff, a pleasure to see you again," he said.

"Wish I could say the same."

"Ah yes, it's been a while since we've talked."

"Yet it seems we are both in the same spot we were before."

"Maybe to you. Where do you believe that I am right now?

"You think you have the upper hand when really you don't. Thank you for just proving my point as well."

"I may have underestimated you before, or maybe I didn't. Anyways, you won't get a chance as you did before ever again, so you best enjoy whatever scraps I give you."

"You did underestimate me and continue to do so."

"I will be the judge of that."

Natasha pulled the chair that was against the wall close to the cell and sat down. For a moment, the two only studied one another, searching for any weakness or flaw. She was not ready to trust that Loki wasn't himself and probably never would, but she still looked for signs of something, anything being wrong.

"So, what brings you here?" Loki asked.

"I just want to talk," she answered, face blank.

"You will have to be more specific, dear."
