The month of March, April and May.

When we arrived in the Papal State the next day, the Pope was immediately informed of the death of his son.

The Pope had burst into tears when he heard that his only son had been brutally murdered and locked himself in the chapel all day.

My family was also informed and that same day my father came to me with my heavily pregnant sister to assist me.

His funeral was three days later and he was buried in his family cemetery.

As agreed at our marriage, I inherited all his possessions and his money because we had no children and I became very rich in a short time. Ottavio had no houses or anything like that, but he did have money.

I dressed in black and thanked everyone who came to offer my condolences with tears in my eyes as if I had loved him all along.

I told my father and sister about the way Ottavio had treated me and told them I was glad he was dead.

I was now a free woman again. No more Rossi but a Medici.

I moved back to my father's house and lived there until my mourning period was over.

In mid-April, my sister gave birth to a daughter she named Leonora, named after her mother. And named me her godmother.

Isabella and little Leonora stayed with us briefly in Florence before it was time for her to return to Rome.

I too decided it was time to go and with my father's blessing I left for France at the end of May where I planned to stay.

Short chapter on how everything ended. Subsequent chapters will focus purely on the romance between Bianca and Francis.

How have you liked the chapters so far and are you glad Ottavio is dead.
