June 26, 1562

The next morning I woke up tense and no matter what I did, the tension didn't go away.

Even my maids noticed how tense I was and as soon as I finished breakfast they also left me alone in my room. Probably to keep them from getting in the way, something I appreciated about them.

I had to see Francis. I hadn't told him about my conversation with my father last night and I thought he should have known.

I walked, almost ran, down the halls to his rooms where he sat behind his desk with a few documents in his hands.

When he saw me walking into the room a big smile appeared on his face and he immediately got up to kiss me.

"Bia, I'm so glad to see you" he said after leading me to the two chairs in his room "to what do I owe your visit"

I sat down "I spoke to my father yesterday and asked him what he should discuss with your father. He told me that your father wanted an alliance with Florence and I wondered if he wanted to do that through marriage. Since your sister was younger or older than my brothers I assumed it might be about the two of us and I asked my father to discuss the subject of our marriage with your father" I quickly explained to him.

Francis sighed loudly, "Do you think my father would trade his alliance with Scotland for an alliance with Florence?" I shrugged ignorantly. I really didn't know, the king couldn't be bothered.

"We can only wait and see," I said.

The day is slow. I didn't see my father all day and the king, who normally walked through the corridors with a lot of noise, was also untraceable.

I had spent my day in the corridors where I kept walking back and forth. First on the ground floor, then the first floor and then the last floor in the hope that I would run into my father.

When it was time for dinner I saw my father and the king again. The king sat at the head of the table and my father sat nearest to him, facing the queen. They seemed to be in deep conversation.

I ate little because of the nerves. And remained silent even though Mary tried to have a conversation with me.

I looked at the king and my father and father looked at me briefly. I looked at him questioningly and he shrugged.

The king had not yet given a clear answer.

I could see from father's look that it irritated him. He, too, knew the benefits of a marriage between me and Francis. Not only would his daughter be queen but he would be the father-in-law of the king of France and grandfather of the future king, which meant power. My brothers could have big marriages, foreign princesses, and that would be even more power for my father.

He would do something his predecessors hadn't done before and I would have helped him do that.

The bastard, or rather legitimate daughter. Had brought her family glory.

What do you think Henry's answer will be. Will he agree to the marriage or will he stick to his previous decision, Scotland?
