September 16th, 1564.

It was already 8 days after Francis left for battle. 8 days I was away from him.

I was in Mary's rooms with Cecily. Since she was regent, she often invited us to sit in her rooms and sew or embroider together.

I didn't quite trust her sudden kindness but didn't show it. She probably thought she had more certainty with her pregnancy.

She was now 3 months pregnant and her tummy was sticking out proudly under the layers of her dress. She had blossomed with her pregnancy. She beamed all over.

"Nobody told me being pregnant was that hard." she sighed as she rubbed her stomach. I looked up from my sewing and smiled briefly "Then you should see the birth."

There was still a kind of tension between me and Mary. It wasn't like it used to be when we could chat continuously.

"Oh don't make me think about it. Someone told me that she had been in labor for almost two days. That seems terrible to me." She said.

"I think it depends. My labor didn't last very long. My contractions started in the morning and Louis was there by evening." I said. "Then I hope I have as easy a delivery as you do."

"We both pray for your well-being, Your Majesty. And for a healthy son." said Cecily. "Thank you."

The nurse came running into the room and made a curtsy before she gave Louis to me. It was a habit for me to have louis with me as often as possible. I motioned for her to go.

Mary looked at louis "How many months is he now?" she asked. "5 months." I answered. I tickled louis under his neck and he laughed.

Mary smiled "I hope I have a healthy little boy like you. I want to see Francis just as happy when I present my son to him and he comes up with a name for him."

"You can also come up with a name for him yourself. Isn't that what you did Bianca." Cecily said, she smiled.

She tried to mess with Mary. She knew perfectly well that Francis had chosen his name and the meaning behind it.

"No, Francis chose his name. He said, 'We name him after the many kings who have reigned before him and many who are yet to come'." I said, trying to hide my smile.

Mary looked angry. "He will never become king, his name should have been better given to my son.". "But of course, he is only his first child, but illegitimate. We are only waiting for your son or daughter."

I got up with louis in my arms "If you'll excuse us. Cecily are you coming with me?" I got up, made a curtsy and walked out of the room with Cecily.

Arriving in the hallway Cecily started laughing uncontrollably "You dare. How you insulted her." I also started laughing.

"She will have to learn not to insult me. I am worth more than she thinks."
