Mary Pov.
I walked through the corridors, pushing myself past the courtiers who had gathered in the corridors. They yelled different things at me, probably because they couldn't find anyone else from the royal family.
"Is France's Legitimate Dead?"
"Where's Louis?"
"Do you know what's going on?"
I stopped and turned to them. "Nothing is known about the search yet. But he is most likely already dead and they probably took his body and buried it or maybe even burned it." I hissed annoyed. I continued walking but could still hear their whispers.
I entered the chapel.
Francis and Bianca were kneeling at the front of the chapel. Both dressed in black. Behind them were Catherine, Maximilian, and his wife Cecily kneeling.
I knelt beside Catherine and made a sign of the cross.
No, I wasn't praying for Louis, but I had to make it seem like I was worried, as if it hurt me that he was missing.
"Bring my son back to me, god." whispered Bianca. She had one of her hands around her stomach and in the other she had clutched a rosary.
It did me good to see her desperate. She would feel how I had felt for the past few years when she took my husband from me.
And Francis. He wanted to take everything from my daughter, but now God has punished him.
It's just a shame that their innocent son would suffer from that.
Short chapter. Do you think Louis is still alive or was he murdered in cold blood and who do you think is behind it?
