June 2nd, 1566.

The next morning I went with Louis to Francis's study. He'd been whining all morning to see his father.

I knocked on the door and opened it. "Daddy!" Louis ran inside.

"My Louis, come to daddy." Francis said, lifting Louis up in the air making him burst out laughing.

He put it back on the ground and came over to me and kissed my forehead. He rubbed his hand over my stomach and the baby kicked back in response.

"The baby is strong." He said, he sat down again and took Louis on his lap. I sat down in the chair opposite him.

"Have you visited Mary yet?" I asked him as I took a grape from the bowl of fruit. "No why would I. She has disappointed us all." he said grumpily.

"It is still your daughter and your heir. You didn't even name her." "Girls cannot ascend the French throne. She will be Queen of Scotland, but she will never be Queen of France."

I looked at him with pity, "You're going to get your heir." He smiled "I already have that.". "Charles?" I asked.

"Louis."

Louis looked up when his name was called. "Louis? That is not possible. he is your illegitimate son even though he is acknowledged."

"I can change the line of succession, with the blessing of the Holy Father, and therefore God, and with the permission of the council, all is settled. Louis will be king of France after me."

I grabbed my stomach in shock. "It's impossible, it's dangerous." I stammered. "Have you no ties to the Pope? We'll have his approval in no time, believe me. Today I will announce it to the council and when everything is official we will announce it to the court. Then you will give birth to our baby, and if it is also a boy, it will also be added to the line of succession."

I shook my head in disbelief. What Francis did was a danger not only to Louis but to himself.

Mary will never accept this. She will work against us.

I looked at my daughter with tears in my eyes. I had named her Margaret, on behalf of my grandmother, since her father didn't even think it worth naming her.

When Bianca gave birth to louis, there was so much celebration that you could hear the music on the top floor.

Yesterday I heard nothing. I got no congratulations and no one came to visit me, not even Catherine.

I knew Francis would never sleep with me again, he only did that with Bianca.

Margaret was my only hope for now. She would be the future Queen of Scotland and hopefully France too if I got Francis to change the rules.

I wouldn't give up here, that was clear.

So I had come up with a whole storyline, but now I have doubts about the gender of Bianca's child.

A boy would make her even stronger than she already is but a girl would make her equal to Mary and since she already has a son her position wouldn't change much especially with what Francis is up to. and then of course you think of the storyline of Mary's daughter and bianca's daughter and that they start hating each other, for example.

and if you're Both, so twins, I think she's only 19 years old and that's pretty young to have three kids.

It's all so complicated and I want to write it in the next chapter.
