"Well that was close." Makayla stated, breathing hard. She watched Bill as he suspiciously approached her. He stood in front of her as she sized him up and then he suddenly grabbed her hands, putting them in handcuffs at such an incredible speed.

"What are you- Joel!" Makayla called for him.

"Bill!" Joel grunted but Bill kept doing his own.

"Bill!" Joel repeated walking closer as Bill locked Makayla's hands in those handcuffs around a pipe that was hanging from the wall.

Bill was quick to pull out a gun and point it at Joel as Joel got closer, "Turn around and get on your knees."

"Turn around!" He repeated.

"Alright!" Joel did as he said and turned around.

"And get on your knees!" He kicked Joel's knee from behind making him get on his knees.

"Just- take it easy." Joel demanded and meanwhile Makayla started tugging at the pipe as hard as she could.

"You got any bites?" Bill started examining him.

"No."

"Anything sprouting?"

"Goddammit I'm clean!" Joel thundered and just as he did Makayla ripped the pipe from the wall, hitting Bill with it. She hit his hand first, hard enough to make him scream out in pain. She went for another hit but Joel was already on his feet as he caught the pipe and took it from her, not letting her strike again.

"Stop!" He warned her and walked over to a cursing Bill.

"You done?!" Joel pointed at Bill with the pipe.

"Am I done?! You come into my house. You set off all my traps, damn near break my fucking arm! Who the fuck is this punk and what is she doing here?"

"I'm none of your goddamn bussines! We're here because you owe Joel some favors and you can start by taking these off!" Makayla angrily stomped towards Bill, lifting up her arm with the handcuffs on.

Joel stepped between them, genuinely surpised how powerful and scary her angry voice was.

"I owe Joel some favors, is this some kind of joke?"

"I'll cut the chase, I need a car." Joel declared with a serious tone in his voice.

"So it is a joke. Joel needs a car. Well, If I had one that works, which I sure as hell don't, what makes you think I'd give it to you? Huh?! Yeah sure Joel go ahead! Take my car! Take all my food while you're at it."

"By the looks of it you could loose some of that food." Makayla provoked as Bill aimed his machette at her, "Listen to me you smartass-"

"No fuck you you handcuffed me!" She screamed and Joel grabbed onto her shoulder, pushing her backwards,

"I need you to shut. Up."

Makayla scoffed as Joel made his way back to Bill.

"Whatever favors you think I owe you it ain't worth that much."

"Actually Bill, they are." Joel demanded.

"I don't have a car that works."

"But there is one in this town."

"Parts! There are parts in this town."

"Meaning that you could fix one up

"Meaning that you could fix one up." Joel wasn't planning on loosing.

Bill sighed, thinking for a second before speaking up, "Alright. There's some gear I'm gonna need but it's on the other side of town. You'll help me go gather it and maybe I could put something together that runs." He pointed out a location on a map.

"But after this, I owe you nothing." He slammed a pair of keys on the table.

Joel grabbed the keys before grabbing Makayla's hand, getting her out of the handcuffs and for a split second their eyes met.

"There's a place where we're gonna stay the night. We leave tomorrow morning. Stay right on my ass." Bill commanded walking past them.

"Yeah. Can't miss it." Makayla mumbled making Joel pull her with them by her arm, "Knock it off."

"Alright..whatever supplies you may want or need I suggest you grab 'em." Bill stated as they walked into another room that looked like it was a bar before.

"Take a look around." Joel told Makayla and she nodded, "On it."

Once they took everything they needed they walked to the door. Bill opened them and as Joel got through he waited for Makayla.

"Alright, come on." He wanted her to hurry up so she did.

"Don't leave the door open." Bill called out.

"I got it." Joel shut the door and followed them.

"We have to cross to the other building, up the stairs, move it." Bill called out again.

"You weren't kidding about him." Makayla spoke making Joel shrug, "Yeah he's one of a kind." Joel hurried up and approached Bill so Makayla was walking behind them.

"What kinda trouble are you in? Where the hell's Tess?"

"It's a job. A simple drop off." Joel answered and Makayla could say Joel became uneasy as Bill mentioned Tess.

"What are you delivering? That brat?"

"Fuck you." Makayla joined the conversation making Bill burst out laughing. He looked like he was enjoying the bickering before he looked back at Joel again, "You know I hope you know what you're doing."

"So where are we going Bill?" Joel changed the subject.

"To other safe house. It's more of an armoury."

"I thought we were gonna fix up a car." Makayla called out, obviously wanting to get away from Bill as soon as possible.

"We? You know how to fix up a-"

"Bill! Just..." Joel stopped him from continuing.

They continued to walk down some stairs until they got to another room that looked like a bar.

"You didn't answer my question about Tess. I thought the two of you were inseparable."

"She's busy." Joel simply answered.

There was one infected stuck in a window as Bill cut his head off with a machette, "Sure. Busy. Sounds to me like trouble in paradise." Bill looked at Joel and now it was pretty clear to Makayla. She was right before. There was something between them.

And in Tess's last moments the love for Joel was more than visible.

"Yeah somethin' like that." Joel muttered making Bill turn around abruptly as his eyes flickered from Joel to Makayla and back, "Is that cause of her?" He asked carefully making Joel huff angrily, "Bill. No." Joel immediately shut any thought that was going around in Bill's mind.
