"We gotta be quiet, if that truck sees us it won't be pretty." Joel whispered a and Makayla nodded. They sneaked behind one of the buildings, as the truck turned around they took that as a opportunity to cross the street. They hid behind a bigger building noticing a pair of stairs along the side of it.
They ran up and jumped in through a window as they started searching for supplies. "Here, I got enough for now." She threw ammo at Joel that she found on the ground.
"Thanks." Joel muttered and jumoed out through another window, finding himself on another pair of stairs.
"I thought you wanted to commit a suicide for a sec." Makayla spoke as she jumped after him on the railings.
"Shit." He pushed Makayla behind her as they heard the truck coming from that side. He pulled her by her hand, running up the stairs as he jumped in another window that was wide open. He was about to help her jump in as he extended her hand out the window but someone jumped at him from behind, trying to choke him.
Joel grabbed onto his hands, and hit the man with his elbow making him fly back with a groan as Joel grabbed him and threw him at the ground, hitting him multiple times.
"Joel stop!" He heard Makayla call from behind him and he gifted the unknown man with two more punches before he actually stopped, looking at Makayla when he noticed she was looking in front of them. He flowed her gaze seeing a small boy aiming at them with a gun.
Joel slowly stood up and walked backwards closer to Makayla, "Easy son. Just take it easy." He tried to calm the boy down as the man sat up, coughing hard,
"It's alright. They're not the bad guys lower the gun." He ordered the younger boy, still breathing heavily as he grabbed onto his head, "Man you hit hard." He groaned and stood up while he was still in pain.
"Yeah well I was trying to kill you." Joel glared at him.
"Yeah I thought you were one of them too. Then I saw you." The man pointed at Makayla, "They don't really keep women around."
"You're bleeding." The boy stepped closer to him, examining his busted face.
"I know it's fine." The man declared and went to pull something out of the boy's backpack, "I'm Henry, this is Sam and I think I caught your name was Joel?"
Joel didn't deny it as Henry looked at Makayla, "Makayla." She said with a half smile.

"How many are with you?" Joel asked Henry.
"They're all dead." Sam spoke but Henry quickly interrupted him, "Hey. We don't know that."
"There were a bunch of us. Someone had the brilliant idea to enter the city and look for supplies. Those fuckers they ambushed us. Scattered us. Now it's all about getting out of this shithole. We could help each other. We've got a hideout not too far from here. It'd be safer if we chat there." Henry stated making Joel and Makayla look at each other.
It was more than noticable Joel didn't like this idea too much by the expression on his face.
"Alright take us there." Joel eased up a little.
"Follow me." Henry said and he and Sam started leading the way.
They walked through a few rooms until they got into a long empty hallway with a stairs at the end.
"We gotta be careful. We're right next to their look out areas." Henry stated as they got to the stairs.
He suddenly looked back to look at Joel, "So is it just you and your-" he finish his sentence, afraid he might guess wrong but the word daughter was definitely laying on his tongue.
"I promised someone I'd deliver her somewhere." Joel spoke.
"Hey quiet and get down!" Henry warned as soon as they entered another room and they did as he said, letting the truck pass by the windows.
"Man that fucking truck has been hounding us ever since we got in this damn- Sam what are you going?" He turned to look at Sam who was holding a small robot toy in his hand.
"Nothing. My backpack is practically empty."
"What's the rule about takin' stuff?!" Henry walked closer to him.
"It weights like nothing." Sam protested.
"The rule- what is it?!"
"We only take what we have to." Sam threw the robot on the ground with a sad expression on his face.
"That's right. Now c'mon." Henry called out so they'd keep following him.
"How far is this place?" Joel asked from behind.
"Close. Real close."
There was an exit as Joel slowly opened the door. He could hear about 4 hunters talking.
"Makayla watch our back." Joel said as she nodded, grabbing her bow.
"Sam, you stay with her." Henry ordered and followed Joel as they quietly took two of them down. The other two were on a roof and Makayla didn't waste any time, taking them down with her bow as their bodies fell down right in front of Henry and Joel. They looked at her and motioned with their hands for her and Sam to follow them.
"On the roof." Sam stated and started climbing up as they followed him. He opened the door and they walked in.
"You sure it's safe being so close to them?" Joel asked making Henry grin, "I'm the only one with the key man. I killed one of them. He won't miss it anymore."
They walked through a few more rooms before Henry took the key out and opened the door at the end of the hallway, "Here we are."
