Tommy remained looking at her as if he's seen a ghost.
"Tommy- Fucking say something!" Makayla was becoming impatient.
"I- fucking hell... Is it-?"
"Of course it's Joel's!" She howled and grabbed her head from frustration.
"Holy shit!.. congratulations that's great news!" He released the breath he was holding now finally smiling but he still looked shocked.
He was happy, laughing as if the while fiasco that was playing in Makayla's head wasn't necessary.
He stood up, his smile even wilder now as he placed his hands on his waist muttering, "That motherfucker." And laughed again.
... The next day
Makayla talked to Dina as well. After she had some sleep she was taking Jesse's death a bit better.
Makayla then told them all about the road to Detroit, and about taking down David even if Tommy tried to lecture her multiple times during the story, to never run off like that again.
And she also made sure to tell them to not tell anything about the pregnancy until she's ready to speak up about it and tell Joel.
Although she was afriad she would never be...
____ Jackson
They were all staring forward at the main gate of Jackson.
Tommy and Dina went first, ordering the men to let them in.
When Tommy and Dina walked inside, everyone that was behind the gate stopped with everything when they saw Makayla and the others behind her.
They all walked in and people from Jackson started to gather.
Most already waving at Makayla, happy she's back and well. Some were shocked, some just staring.
Maria ran outside and to Makayla,
"You sure know how to stress us out." She said calmly but with tears in her eyes, "I'm sorry about before."
She apologized, which was weird but it felt good to know she felt bad.
Makayla nodded with a tired smile.
She looked sore. There was still a few scratches across her face along with a few bruises.
"Maria. They need a place to stay. Most of them will go on on their own later it's just for a few days for now."
Maria looked at the women, they looked lost but relieved,
"Yeah I can do that." Maria agreed and a big stone fell from Makayla's heart.
Thank fuck..
She looked around, at all the curious people from Jackson and her heart stopped when her eyes met those familiar hazel ones.
He was standing a bit further away, shocked, as if he just saw her the second she saw him.
Makayla's chest tightened.
Tears gathered in her eyes, it was like a reflex. God she missed him so damn much.
He let the bag he was holding fall to the ground while he didn't take his eyes off of her.
And when he started walking forward she couldn't just stand there anymore.
She ran towards him and into his arms.
They both released a breath of relief when they're bodies touched.
Makayla's hands sneaked around his waist while his arms were around her, holding her so tightly she could loose her breath any minute.
Her tears were now falling uncontrollably. She couldn't help it.
For the past month she's been dreaming about this. She finally felt safe again, untouchable.
"Don't you ever do somethin' like that to me again. Fucking hell.." he cursed with that low and vibrant voice. His eyes shut while he kept holding her.
She pulled away, now looking him in the eyes.
He was frowning, but that was just to fight off all the overwhelming emotions he was now feeling.
"Did someone-" he gritted his teeth, not able to even finish the sentence as he was holding her face in his palms.
She knew what he meant.
"No. No.." she shook her head and he nodded, relieved.
He now noticed all the people staring at them as he now glared back, making most of them turn around or just simply look away. They respected him like no other.
"Come on," He said, looking at her face.
...
After taking a shower she was sitting on the couch while he was working on cleaning her wounds.
It was so quiet.
But he seemed focused, worried. Probably still shocked.
She remembered Tommy's words about how different Joel became. She just had to give him time.
She knew he was angry at himself. Because he tried to get to her but it was impossible.
"Joel it's fine.." she mumbled but he kept cleaning her wounds with a frown on his face,
"Joel." She said, gently pushing his hand away and standing up.
He huffed,breaking eye contact.
"I just- I don't know what I would do if you-" he started, mumbling but Makayla cut him off,
"I'm here. That's what matters. I'm sorry I ran off without saying anything but I had to it. Just so my damn soul could be at peace..."

She said and he looked down at her, her eyes already looking up at him.
His large palms were now on each side of her face as he caressed her bruised cheek.
"I know." He breathed in that husky tone, nodding slowly. He didn't want to put too much pressure after everything she must have gone through.
She smiled and he pressed his forehead down against her's, closing his eyes to finally calm himself down as she moved closer and pressed her lips against his.
