SHINA YOUNG

I'm drinking in the mini lounge bar inside our house.

I poured alcohol to my glass and gulped it.

I'm drinking to celebrate my failure. I realized again that the outside world wasn't really meant for me. But, the world out there is still a wild jungle for me. As what Jin said, I'm the person who lives in my own bubble.

I have no choice now but to resort to different plans about Jin and Suzie. Or should I just admit to Dad that I can't do it anymore?

"Ate, I made a spicy chicken wings for you.

"Thank you," tipid kong sagot. I tried to pour another glass of alcohol but she stopped my hand.

There were only five people who knew about my sickness. It's Dad, Suzie, my doctor, our kitchen head chef who were with us for more than fifteen years and our former head chef who resigned three years ago. Ngayon, nadagdagan na ng pito.

"How does it taste?" she asked with excitement.

"It's okay." I shrugged.

"Wow that means it delicious! I actually decided to improve my cooking skill nowadays since Jin likes woman who cooks."

Patay malisya akong uminom ng alak. "That's a nice thing to do kesa mambarkada ka ng mambarkada," komento ko.

Suzie started to learn cooking at young age because of me. She used to prepare my food if the chef weren't around to cook for me.

"I want to drink too. Sasabayan kita." She poured alcohol in my glass and drank it. After emptying the glass, she stared at me with serious face. "Are you having a hard time Ate?" she asked.

"No," I lied.

"Don't lie. You won't be here if you're okay. What's weighing in your chest now? Is it the marriage arrangement? If it is. Then I'll talk to Dad. I'll tell him to give up the idea. Kilala mo naman ako ate. Kahit patay na patay ako kay Jin, ikaw pa rin ang pipiliin ko between the two of you."

Tumawa ako. "I know but it's not really about that. I'm a little bit down because I miss working at the office. I realized that the only thing I'm capable of doing is working at Hundai." "Suzie are you enjoying your life now?"

"Yes I enjoy it so much," may kakaibang kislap ang mga matang sagot niya.

"Is it really fun to go out with friends?"

"Oo naman ate! I get to experience a lot of things money can't buy. Travelling, exploring new things and meeting different kind of people were the best things that happened to me. While I still have this freedom, I want to make good memories I can keep forever.
