16. Carnival

"It's beautiful" I said getting down the car. All of us arrived at carnival few minutes ago in five cars. I let leo down, at first he turned to all directions sniffing standing in one place. I pat his neck and walk towards the entrance with my family ahead of me and some behind.

"Roller coaster" the twin yelled pointing at it. Mom ruffled their hair and said let's go. We got the ticket and I sat next to Nico with twins behind us and ales and Leopoldo in the front. After the successful ride we got and went to bow and arrow game.

I won 2 cans of red bull drink. Literally useless I tell you. Dad then took the bow and arrow from me and it hit the target perfectly. Like perfect hit. I looked at the target shocked and so were the other people in the carnival except for my family.

"Here" dad gave me the giant teddy bear he won.

"Thank you dad" I hugged it tight. It was light white-esh cream colour with blue eyes just like mine. We went it many rides and all of us were tried but then a certain ride caught my eye.

"Ferris wheel 🎡" I yelled pointing at it. "Let's go there come on" I said pulling my dad's hand.

"Um should we really go there" dad asked eyeing the Ferris wheel.

"Yes come on it's fun"

"Okay whatever you say princess" I smile at him. He ordered some people behind us to buy tickets and they went while we were waiting. I felt someone push my thighs. I look down to leo and ruffle his head or hair then a sudden thought invaded me. If we all go to the ride who will leo be with till I come back. I frowned.

What to do?! I didn't even bring his chain to tie him he only has a belt around his neck.

"Leo can stay with one of the guards here. I am sure he will listen to you if you say" mom said to me. I look at her shocked. How does she know what I am thinking? And this is not the first time.

"Okay mom"

"Baby can you please stay with one of them for while?" He barked a 'yes' making me smile. If you closely listen to him you will understand what he tells, he knows to speak. "Please don't run away. Stay by his side"

After a couple of minutes the guard came back with the tickets. He handed everything to dad and turned to leave but I stopped him.

"Hi. If you don't mind can he stay with you while I go for the ride please?" I said gesturing towards leo.

"Sure ma'am" and immediately leo stood next to him.

We went to the Ferris wheel. I was a bit scared but nevertheless faced it. Once we reached the top the whole new york looked so beautiful. Lights and tall buildings every where. Other side filled with numerous trees. It's looked so beautiful. Before I could enjoy more the wheel rotated taking us down.

I got down the wheel and went straight to the guard. I thanked him taking leo with me. We then ran into cotton candy shop. All of us got one and were talking about which ride to go next.

BARK!!!

"Le-" before I complete his name he took off running. "Leo" I ran behind him without a second thought. I ran as fast as my legs could take me but leo was faster than me and I couldn't find him in the crowd. I turned around in a hope to find my family but found none.

I checked my phone but didn't find it. I kept in in car for charge. cussing myself I went forward hoping to find somebody. Before I could go further someone grabbed my arm spinning me around. I came face to face with mom.

"Thank God. I found you" she released a sign of relief. "Never run away like that Alyssa"

"I couldn't find leo" my eyes instantly filled with tears. My baby.
