The Prince's Fiance

Chapter Two

In front of the ballroom Jisoo was fidgeting nervously with her hands. She waited impatiently till the carriage of her friend arrived. As it finally stopped in front of the stairs and Lilith stepped out, she jumped her with a hug. "Gosh.. What took you so long?" "Ah- Ask the horseman, not me." Jisoo glared over her shoulder towards the horseman who could feel the goosebumps rising but quickly turner her attention back.

"Who's your escort, Lili?" she asked curiously, forgetting her nervousness. "That may be me." replied a deep voice behind Lilith and wrapped his hand around her waist as he stepped closer. Jisoo looked startled up to her friends handsome cousin while the mage girl averted engrossed her face as she felt his hand on her waist. "I think you haven't met yet.. May I Introduce my cousin to you, Solomon Arden. Solomon, this is Lady Jisoo Ayers." Solomon quickly let go of his cousin and took Jisoo's hand to place a polite kiss on her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Jisoo."

Jisoo slightly blushed as an answer to this. "Oh.. the pleasure is mine." After releasing her hand the group stepped closer to the entrance and minty leaned closer to Lilith to whispered secretly "Why did you never told me how handsome your cousin is?" "Because... We are not that close." she replied simple to avoid more questions about him.

A voice announced their arrival in the ball room, simply calling out the family name and their title.

The ballroom was already good filled and the two debuting girls huddled up together to check out the masses of people. Both were followed by their escorts.

"Just look what beautiful clothes they all wear..! It gives me the urge to go shopping again." Jisoo exclaimed with sparkling eyes. "Really wonderful." replied her dotting brother.

"My dear cousin, do you need me to company you or can I go after the business I planned to?" Solomon leaned closer to Lilith with a smile which said 'I don't want to babysit you' and she nodded simply at him as a dismissal. "Be back for the first dance or I must steal Jincheol for it." she said while peeking over to Jisoo. "And whim whom will I dance when you dance with my brother?!" "With the crown Prince of course." Lilith smiled a teasing smile.

"What- he hasn't even shown up-!" she retorted quickly but got cut off by a loud noise.

"Now arriving.. his Highness the Crown Prince Raito Romano!"

The audience was whispering and nobles where rushing closer to the entrance to get a glimpse of the rarely seen crown Prince. Jisoo and Lilith unfortunately stood too far to away for a peek on his Highness. "Damn it.. can't I even see my own fiance for once in my life??" "Wait Jiji, I will make us a way." the mage girl whispered back and concentrated deeply for a moment. She whispered a foreign spell and pointed into the crowd. The people which stood in the pointed direction soon seemed very nervous and hurried away. Quickly the girls and Jincheol hurried to take the free spot.

"Lilith.. what did you do to them..?" Jin asked worried while Jisoo was blasting for excitement. "Nothing special. They just feel the urge to use the restrooms." She smirked up to him and looked then together with her friend to the entrance.

The crown Prince was walking with an indifferent face towards the seat at the end of the hall, followed by an aide of his. He wore clothes worthy an kingdoms heir, his light pink hair which was relatively long for a male was lowly bounded together so that a strand could fall over his shoulder and his sky clear blue eyes were focused on his way.

"Huh.. he doesn't look bad." Lilith whispered behind Jisoo who didn't know how to respond to this. Her eyes left the prince after a short investigation and stopped at the aide. He wore very noble clothes too. His eyes had the same blue shade as the Prince but his hair had a golden blond and shined like the sun. His features appealed Jisoo a lot more that her jaw threatened to drop. At the end of the hall the Prince sat down on a large chair and his aide simply stood next to him, whispering him unknown things. The ballroom became quieter again and the nobles went back to their previous spots.

"I.. I don't know what I should say..." Surely the crown Prince was handsome, but if she had to marry someone she would choose the aide over him. "Lili, do you know who the aide is?" The reply was a chuckle followed form a brief explanation. "His Highness aide is Duke Akito Frazer. He is his cousin and the second in line to the throne." "What his cousin? Aren't they supposed to fight over the throne?" This time Jin answered. "Sir Frazer will inherit the Dukedom from his father. They are in charge if the military and very powerful. I don't think a fight over the throne is necessary here." She nodded to the answer which made sense and watched the two figures a while longer.

Not long till she noticed the gaze of the aide on herself. He was looking into their direction and whispered afterwards to the Prince. 'Oh no. Did sir Frazer recognized me as his fiance?' It was when the Prince suddenly stood up from his seat and walked towards them. "Lili!" She grabbed her friends hand and squeezed it tightly while she was distracted by a talk with her brother. "Ow- what is wrong-" Lili and Jin both turned their head and saw the Prince approaching together with the young Duke.

As they stopped in front of them all three bowed courtesy. Duke Frazer bowed too and introduced themself. "Akito Frazer my name.. and his Highness, Prince Romano." He perked up with a smirk to the Ladies before leaning up and hiding his smirk again. Lilith watched Akito's expression attentive before introducing herself. "Lilith Arden, daughter of Marquess Arden." she glanced then to her friend who stood frozen in place. "And this is Jisoo Ayers, daughter of Marquess Ayers." Jin Introduced himself without help.

"His Highness fiance, am I right?" Akito's eyes were glued on Jisoo and a constant smile was displayed on his face. Jisoo herself didn't notice the gaze as she was to nervous to finally meet the Prince. But Raito calmly observed everyone's faces, not showing any excitement to the meeting till his gaze fell on Lilith's necklace. He barely noticeable narrowed his eyes as suddenly the music started to play. It was time for the first dance,

Since a royal was present the first dance has to be made by the Prince, otherwise anyone could've started. The eyes of all nobles fell after a while in the direction of Raito since they had to wait for him to start the dance. It was when Akito loudly cleared his voice once. The Prince snapped out of a trance and held his hand towards Jisoo. "May I ask for this dance?" She couldn't say no. He was the Prince and her fiance. "I'm honored." her voice showed less excitement but she laid her hand in his and they soon started to dance.

The audience quietly watched them dance for a moment till the polite penalty was over and everyone else could start to dance too.

Jin who sighed after watching his sister being dragged away soon turned to Lilith since they seemed to be each others dance backup. "Lilith m-" "May I ask for this dance Lady Arden?" She blinked as two hands were held in front of her. Jincheol's who was cut off in his invitation and Akito's hand. Jin pulled his hand back and nodded to her as encouragement to accept the offer. Like commanded she took Akito's hand and accepted the dance.

Meanwhile on the dance floor an awkward silence was reign between Jisoo and Raito. She could clearly feel that he isn't dancing with her out of affection but it was his duty. She accepted her fate on not being loved and glanced over his shoulder towards Akito who.. is asking Lilith to dance right now! 'I want to dance with him instead!' she complained in her mind. But being absentminded during a dance didn't do her any good. She left the music's tact and stepped on Raitos food.
