The guards were taking Akito and Jisoo out of the dungeons. They where both led away and dressed by servants and maids in separate rooms into rags, since they still wore their noble clothes. After the rough redressing, a higher standing Knight briefed them. "The execution will start soon. Your heads will be hung on the gates." As if giving prisoners instructions would make any difference. "W-what.. no you can't do that-" But they didn't listened to her pleads and pushed them into another barren room to wait their last moments out.
At another part of the Palace, Raito had hid away from the guards to not get caught. He was nervously walking through the corridors as he was out of the basement and analyzed the situation. They prepared the execution in the front gardens of the palace. Curious gazes from commoners could watch through gates and nobles were allowed to enter in low amounts. It wouldn't be long till they would start. The biggest part of the audience were Knights. Royal Knights and even Knights of the Frazer army. He would like to take on the opportunity to make use of them, but they weren't enough in number. He sighed as a voice disturbed him from the side. "My Lord, Lady Saiyumi requests you to meet her dressed up in the front gardens." "Yes.. I will change. Please tell her I will be there soon." The maid bowed and left him. Raito returned to his room and left the door fall shut with a loud clack.
"There you are, young Lord Frazer." Raito jerked his head around and saw Solomon and Lilith sitting on a couch. It might have been only the second time meeting the male mage, but he recognized him instantly. Suprise and relieve washed over him. Never has he been so glad to see two mages even tho they trespassed his privacy. He didn't even bothered that his disguise got figured out. "Please tell me you worked on a way to stop the execution." Solomon rose from his seat and grinned mischievously at him. "I wonder~" Lilith cleared her throat in a scolding way so he would stop beating around the bush. "Right. Since today is such a glorious day, I was so free to invite some more friends on your behalf. A few are already here like you must have noticed, but more will follow soon. I trust you'll be thrilled with delight." He wasn't sure what the mage meant with friends and glanced towards Lilith. She only sat there silently with an awkward face and tried to be serious. "Anyways. We shall go and surprise the folks." He brushed with his hands over his noble suit and reached with one hand towards Lilith. "My dear, I entrust you with our safety." She took her cousins hand and rose form her seat as well. "Understood." They stepped towards the door and Raito, who was still standing there. "Lead the way, your Grace. It's time for the grande finale." The words were more meaningful than they sounded because it was indeed an final for him.
Solomon was surely bad at giving instructions or explaining his plans, was what Lilith thought. He talked too much in riddles and only gave hints on what to do. She decided to cast a protecting spell on them which made it impossible to others to physically touch them. Maintaining the spell required her full concentration, so she didn't said anything while following behind Raito. He on the other hand was anxious while walking towards the front gardens. The servants which weren't busy with the preparations eyed them in their passing but didn't interfered. It didn't occurred them to stop him and the two mages. "If you have any trump cards up your sleeve, wouldn't it be the moment to play it?" Raito questioned them silently so only they could hear him." "I could. But it wouldn't be a spectacle then, would it?" Solomon was smiling with an edge of bitterness in it. He could cast the forbidden spell now but it wouldn't have the effect he wanted. His intention was to catch the antagonists off guard. To show off his capabilities one last time before he would loose them and finally, to show he didn't only caused harm to the Valeis Kingdom.
The audience was fully gathered at the execution grounds including the new King and his proclaimed princess. Akito and Jisoo had been dragged outside and stood on standby close to the stage. A large guillotine, sharp and heavy, was towering on it. Jisoo was trying to hold back her sobs. They were both still convinced that rescue would appear before it was too late. And they weren't wrong about it.
"Where is Prince Raito? Do I have to sent a guard to drag him here?" Saiyumi had gotten snippy. "We should execute him too." Sevan was indifferent about the young man. "I can't understand why you'd want to keep this puppet by your side." "I just want to have him. He is very obedient and royal. That's all what I need." Their conversation ended and Saiyumi turned around in her seat. She saw Raito approaching in the distance and her expression brightened but then she saw who was walking behind him. "..That wench..! How did she escaped?!" Guards acted first and stopped them from getting too close. "Don't step any further and raise your hands!" Weapons were pointed at them but they were unfazed. "How dare you to cause a stir." Sevan was clearly displeased what made the watching crowd grow tense. "Can't you even keep your toy in check?"
Saiyumi face grew red from embarrassment and anger. "We have to execute that witch. She is at fault for this!" Saiyumi stoop up and started to fiddle on her bracelet to activate it's power. Meanwhile guards came closer to our trio to capture them, but an invisible force made it impossible for the Knights to take a hold of them. "Isn't now the moment to act?" Raito took one step back while Solomon watched the Knights in amusement. "I suddenly get the urge to play~" Lilith was annoyed that her cousin had to act up right in this moment but she couldn't complain verbally since she had to keep up the protection spell.
"Raito, obey me and come here." The words of Saiyumi weren't loud and most of them didn't heard them at all, but for the young Duke they were like a chant. The words echoed through his mind, and made him drop to his knees.
