You let your legs move in a way to push you forward on the swing. The stars were quite bright after the recent rain. There were no clouds in the sky. Just the stars, slightly dimmed by the light of the city.

Sure the weather outside was a bit chilly, but it was almost as if you couldn't feel the cold.

A pair of arms draped a blanket around your shoulders. "Are you cold?" Ranboo asked with concern.

You turned around to face him and shrugged. "Not really."

"What are you out here for?"

"A little peace," you responded.

"Do you want me to go back inside to give you space?"

"Naw," you sighed. "It's fine. Look at the stars."

Ranboo looked up. "Oh wow. It is quite bright."

"It's the same sky our ancestors saw many years ago," you said.

Ranboo didn't respond and just stared at the sky.

"It's so simple, yet beautiful. And sometimes if I look at it long enough," you looked back down at the ground, "I can get lost in my thoughts. In a good way."

"Why did that sound so deep?" Ranboo commented with a small smile. He leaned on the tree the swing was on as he watched you swing back and forth.

You shrugged.

There was silence for the next few minutes. Comfortable silence.

The two of you stood like idiots, head looking up at the stars, long enough to probably cause a strain on the neck when you returned your head to its normal position.

But it was fine. It was like a moment of connection.

But to be honest, you came out here to think what was going on between you and Ranboo. It was like suddenly you were seeing him in a new light. Like as if you'd been friends with him for a long time, left for some time, and came back to see him with a glow up.

This isn't obviously normal for friends if you weren't wrong. And this was just wrong. You are best friends with him. Besides, he would surely not have the same feelings.

So you looked at the sky for answers. And it seemed to taunt you as if it knew something you didn't. As if it was way more superior than you.

When Ranboo joined you in gazing at the sky, your doubts shrank. Maybe you were in love.

No, this isn't right.

So you pushed your thoughts away.

It was normal for time to fly when spending time with your best friends right?

It was also normal for friends to always think of each other right?

No. You needed to stop.
