Chapter Nineteen

I woke up and all my blood was rushed to my head. Everything was blurred.

I thrashed around trying to figure out what was going on.

"Guys! She's awake!" A larger boy with dark skin announced.

Everyone there turned around and looked at me. As I scanned over their faces, tears blurred my vision even more.

"Why did you do it? Why'd you leave us and throw a shucking grenade at us?!" Spiky yelled at me.

"I had to! It was the only way you'd leave that place. Janson's first targets were Thomas, Blondie, and me. If he had me, he could use me to find you. So I let him believe that. It's how I found you, I managed to locate you in the city, your trackers are still on. I can get them out, but I doubt you'll trust me enough." I tried to explain quickly.

"How do we know you aren't telling them where we are?" Blondie asked.

"You think I'd do that to you?! You all are my only chance at finding Sonya."

"Who's Sonya?"

"Her, Harriet, Miyoko, and Aris. The girls escaped by stealing my keycards, and Aris was supposed to escape with you."

"I'm here!" Aris yelled from behind Thomas.

"Hey, Aris!" I yelled back.

"So you're only staying with us to find your friends?"

"And the fact that I feel like I know each of you. Plus, if I find a way to call you in, that means I'm getting caught too. They'll kill me if they find me. I shut down the entire building in the city. They've got power back now, but it was off for an entire day." I briefly explained.

"They've already got Wicked coming to get us. We gotta get out of here!" Thomas reminded the group.

The panic settled in again and I went into whole other mode. I reached upwards towards my combat boot and grabbed a pocket knife. I fell back down to let my muscles rest for a second before going back up.

This time, I managed to grab my ankle and started sawing away at the rope. I got the other ankle out and grabbed the rope itself with one hand. I nervously looked down and panicked slightly at the large drop. I finished sawing away at the rope with the knife and was now fully hanging on with my left arm. I put the pocket knife in between my teeth and hung onto the rope with both hands.

I managed to start swinging and got far enough so that I could land on the ground. My hand started to slip and I could feel the rope burn settling in. I pushed off from the rope and landed on the ground. Once I settled my breathing and stretched out my arms, I stood back up. I adjusted to being on my feet and let the blood leave my head. Once I was stable again, I went for Minho, he could help me get the others.

I reached over the bar and grabbed him by the wrist, I pulled him over to the side.

"Hold," I mumbled. 

He grabbed onto the bar as I stood on it and grabbed his leg. I reached up and started sawing on the rope. One ankle was free and Minho grabbed the bar with both hands. I finished cutting the rope on the other ankle and the bottom half of his body fell. I jumped off the bar, landing on my feet and grabbing Minho by his wrist.

I helped pull him up and we were both safely on the ground. I walked over towards Thomas and grabbed his wrist, pulling him to the bar. I climbed back onto the rail and cut off the rope, leaving Thomas hanging by the rail. Minho rushed over, grabbing Thomas and pulling him up. I ran over to Blondie while Thomas worked on Winston and Minho worked on Frypan. I grabbed Blondie's hand and pulled him over to the rail.
