Chapter 14

After Dr Olsen left I began feeling the urge to use the toilet. I sighed, how I wished to have a bathroom in the room. As I pushed away the blanket and slowly moved my legs over the edge of the bed the pain wasn't as bad as last night. Standing up my feet were wobbly like jelly but I managed to keep on my feet holding the nightstand. I stood there for few seconds getting used to the pain of my ribs. Then I slowly made my way to the door, holding the side of my chest wincing every time I made a step.

Halfway to the bathroom Olivia spotted me in the corridor leaning against the wall and ran towards me "what are you doing out of bed?"

"Toilet" I whispered.

"Ok, I'll come with you. Don't want you to fall and break more bones"

I rolled my eyes at her and she glared at me in return. Once we reached the bathroom I did my business and washed my face. Then slowly headed back into the room. Once Olivia helped me into the bed she offered she would bring me breakfast.

Ten minutes later she was back with a tray full of food. I decided to go the easy way since my throat was still painful grabbing a yoghurt and a smoothie. She smiled at my choice. "Did the doctor came by?" She asked raising her eyebrows.

I nodded grabbing my phone off the nightstand and typed in 'he said I am healing but shouldn't use my voice too much' after she read it she nodded.

"Hopefully the drug will be out of your system in few hours so you can heal"

'Yea hopefully' I mouthed.

"That was a very strong drug they gave you. The one we use usually wear off in few hours. This one is in your body for two days and is still there" she shook her head "I don't think Liam will let us go on any missions" she sounded defeated. That thought crossed my mind too, however, missions were the last thing on my mind at the moment.

Remembering the last thing she said before leaving I grabbed my phone and typed 'what did you mean by visiting me if he lets you? Who?'

She read it, her eyebrows high on her forehead. She met my eyes while clearing her throat "since we brought you back Alex was by your bed all night and day. He wouldn't leave your side."

My eyes widened, shock evident on my face. She giggled watching my reaction "I told you, you caught his eye"

For the rest of the day, I stayed in bed. Olivia was by my side all day, I was grateful for her company. Later that day my voice came back and I began feeling stronger. The drug wore off and I felt my ribs reattaching again.

Night came and I itched to leave the room. I was sick of those four walls that surrounded me. No longer having pain anywhere in my body I decided I would go for dinner in the cafeteria. Olivia suggested she would bring me dinner in the bed but I had none of it. With a sigh of defeat, she insisted she would go with me. I felt warmth spreading in my chest at the thought of her being concerned about my well being. In fact, all of them seemed to be concerned about my well being.

After getting dressed in more appropriate clothing which consisted of leggings and a long oversized sweater we finally left the room. Once we got our food we headed towards our table. All three slayers sat there deep in conversation while they ate their dinner. Their heads snapped to us once we approached the table. Three pairs of eyes went wide when they saw me out of the bed

"You should be in bed" Liam eyes me accusingly, his voice matched to his glare.

"Yep, that's what I told her," Olivia gave me a side-eye.

I rolled my eyes at both of them  "I feel fine. I couldn't stay in that room any longer. I was going mad"

Sitting down next to Olivia I sat right across Alex. His eyes bored into mine. I felt like he could see my soul. Olivia's words flashed in my mind. He didn't leave your side. Heat rushed to my cheeks. His eyes roamed over my face and when he noticed my flushing cheeks the corner of his lips lifted slightly into a half-smile. I grabbed my glass of water and took a big sip trying to hide the flush and also extinguish the heat in my body from his intense emerald depths. He held my gase for a few seconds longer before I heard Olivia's voice.
