"Amelia, where are you going?" my best friend Esme asked. I had just received a phone call from Connor, my friend from New York City.
"I have to go somewhere. That guy I mentioned? Connor? He's here and I have to see him," I responded.
Noah, my other friend, shifted uncomfortably. "Does it have to be now? We're kind of in the middle of something."
"Sorry. I'll see you guys later, okay?" I called a taxi and headed to Connor's grandparents' house. The minute I saw him standing on the lawn with his suitcases, his hair slightly ruffled and the sunshine gleaming down on his cute (ohmygosh) face, I rushed out of the car.
I threw my arms around him and whispered, "I missed you."
Connor chuckled. "Of course you did. Missed you too, Amelia."
I glanced over his shoulders. "So, why are you here?"
He shrugged. "My parents decided to come visit and I guess I'll be finishing the school year here."
"Well, just a warning. Westchester is very different from New York."
"Haha. I'll be starting at your school tomorrow, by the way. Pops even went today to pick up the uniform for me. Once you see me in it, you'll faint. It's guaranteed."
I shoved him. If he joked around like that, I would seriously fall for him. "I can't wait for you to meet everyone! They'll all be so excited to see you. They loved the clothes we worked on."
"I'm glad to hear that. I can't wait to meet them, too."
