I ran all the way to Noah's house. When he opened the door, he was surprised to see me.
"Mimi! Why are you here?"
I smiled slightly. "A best friend needs to have a reason to come to your house?"
"I guess not. Come on in then," he said, gesturing towards the inside of his house.
I bravely grabbed Noah's shoulder, pushed myself up towards him, and kissed him. My eyes closed, his opened in shock. I sensed the familiar aroma of him. I've been so used to it since we were tiny that I've never thought it was special. But now, I've realized Noah was special.
He was mine. All mine.
"Amelia, are you feeling alright?" he asked, blinking a couple times. It was almost endearing.
"Never better," I smiled. "I like you too, Noah."
